  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

  • The rule regarding AI content has been updated. The rule now rules as follows:

Scientists feel that, the more humanlike the animal, the better research model it makes for testing drugs or possibly growing "spare parts," such as livers, to transplant into humans.

I think that there is a lot of truth to this. I do think that people will misread this though. It's not like we will be having these creatures walking around with a human head and animal body parts.

Just to make that point, before someone tries to use it.

There's a video game coming out soon - - - http://www.vivisector.com

Is it moral? Is it ethical? No - God created everything in perfect harmony with one another. In fact, His creation was PERFECT before Adam and Eve cursed this earth with their iniquities. With our quest for knowledge (that's what Adam and Eve wanted, wasn't it), we are only making things worse.

Christ my Father, come quickly!

True; parts from pigs are used, such as kidneys...

I don't get the problem myself, unless they intend to give the animals human intelligence, which raises a whole scope of issues, which they don't, afaik.

In the case of the mice with human brains, it would mean dooming a human life to a pitiful lifespan of 2 years or so, as well as placing it in a body in which it would be unable to either speak or use sign language, further alienating it from others.

how would we get anywhere without a desire for knowledge?
we would still be banging sticks together trying to start a fire.

Sorry - im not a christian or religious and the idea makes me sick!

Im a big fan of nature myself. Its ok to ask what if? and learn about things and make discoveries but i do beleive in animal rights (to a point).

Best if we could find a way to grow these things in a jar not on other living creatures, i know it sounds awful, but this sounds worse than using embryos for stem cells (and i didnt think people would be this sick - though it doesnt suprise me :sigh: ) and beleive me - to a point im against that.
