Were you raised as a Christian or did you convert later?

I was raised to believe in Jesus. Raised with all those VeggieTales videos, all the Christian beliefs, Christian morals, everything. My mom had me say the sinner's prayer when I was five, but of course, I didn't know what I was doing because she was just telling me to repeat after her. I didn't really start believing in Him until last year when I got freed of a 3+ year length of depression.

I was born and raised Catholic, forced into Catholic education my whole life even til' today as I am about to enter in my Junior year of high school...I did learn alot about religion and philosophy more than the average person could learn or could be offered at my age. Became agnostic when i turned 13, so almost 4 years of being an atheistic, agnostic Unitarian Universalist (just recently gained knowledge of this community almost a year ago).

i was never raseid.. NEVER.. My mom Always belived in jesus but when My sister died in 2007 My mom Told me to never turn to jesus again... She says she hates . him hates is a strong wrong

I was actually raised to be a christian

It wasnt until later in life that I began to take being a Christian seriously.
Changing this aspect of my life was one of the greatest things I could have done for myself.

I was raised in a church with all christian morals and values, and still am, as a pastor's kid. but moving into a new place had taken away my respect of being a christian because of this society we live in.

My home was not a Christian environment, my family wanted to go to church, but never did because it was boring. I hadn't really even thought of Jesus until sometime in late 2010, then I started attending a church with my (now ex-) girlfriend. I liked the people there, but I still didn't really know Jesus at all, I just went cause I liked the people. Then, in May of 2011, my current girlfriend got me attending her church. This is how I was saved, through my girlfriend.
My family doesn't really agree with my faith, as I'm a Baptist, and they're 'Catholic' but they never attend church. They are the type of Christians to go to church, then forget about him when they leave.
At the same time, they can't forget Jesus if they never really knew him.

I was raised Christian, but that didn't mean I was a practicing Christian. My parents brought me to church every Sunday, but I went just to be seen and flirt. I used to questioned God, the church, and my ex-church members. With that, I left my church by myself. Until, November of 2011 is when I started to practice Christianity. You can say I "converted" from Baptist to Non-Denominational.

I was raised a Christian. However, I believe people can be raised Christian, say they're Christian and still live an atheistic lifestyle ie not acknowledging God. I live with my dad who's Roman Catholic, mum who's Presbyterian, grandma who's Seventh-day Adventist and brother who's Roman Catholic. I don't live in 1 of those households where you have to be Christian or you'll be shunned by your family or hated or something. My brother and I are allowed to be free-thinkers. I've always wanted to ground my faith on fact and not just "what I was taught". I believe the Christian faith is logical, ground in historical truth and the most rational lifestyle. Being a science student all my life, I've always been naturally curious about the world and I've been able to explore the scientific validity of my faith as well

was raised with christian morals but got saved at 8. but then i back slid around early teens and came back officially at 15. i always believed in god and had a healthy respect with him and feared him.. but i never really followed him and spent time with him.

Well, when I was very little we attended a church about an hour from our house. My parents were both raised in Baptist churches, my father in a fundamentalist and my mother in a southern baptist. When I was 5 my dad took in a church about 40-50 minutes from my current home, lived there all my life except that one move, and there I accepted Christ into my heart on June 10, 2006, and on June 21, 2006, at six years old, I was baptized by my dad. When my dad left the church one year later, we stopped going to church. My dad became an over-the-road truck driver, and my mother wasn't very willing to go to church. Over a span of about three years, I tried the churches where I live. None of them were meant for me. Finally on Mother's Day of this year, I went to a Baptist Church in a city close by, and I loved it. Last month I became a member, and here I am now

Well I wasn't raised Christian but I wasn't raised atheist either. I was introduced into the catholic church at a very young age by my grandma whose the only one in my family whose very religious and strong in faith with Jesus but then when I got older I decided to go to my grandmas husbands family church which is a Baptist church because I felt bored in the catholic church and I felt more joy in the baptize church but ill say I accepted Jesus this year.

Tough one but I think I'll have to say that I ultimately converted...

My parents are Christians but are very irreligious, we never went to church. Even though I was exposed to Christianity at an early age, I was never really bothered to learn about it. I was within my own world...my religious beliefs were pretty all over the place. Although I'd have never consider myself atheist/agnostic, I believed in a combination of Pantheism and Unitarian Universalism, with Buddhist characteristics (I'm still influenced by Buddhism, I follow various teachings of the Theravada).

I always believed in a god, or at least a higher power. However I always found that my god was so far away from me...that his influence felt insignificant. This was of course due to the fact that I believed in a false god. I do not know when I fully experienced God but all I can say is that through Jesus, everything in life makes sense. Jesus is the key to Heaven, He is our loving Lord and Saviour. Our God, Jesus Christ, died in order to redeem us of our sins.

It is in my love for Jesus that I ultimately became Catholic.

Catholics are Christian...Jesus is the head of the Catholic Church and He established it. Not sure how you found Jesus and left the Church...wouldn't fully experiencing our Lord make you more drawn to the Church? I have found no other denomination which praises Jesus as much as the Catholic Church, and for good reason too! Our Sacred Tradition, liturgies and virtues are exclusively based on Jesus...we do everything in His name!

The Church is a club of fallen sinners. We're all flawed but as Catholics, we believe that we can only overcome our difficulties by becoming more united and universal.
