We're not really traditional - we don't often use the prayer book but we are actively supporting Peter Jensen's 10% vision for the Diocese of Sydney. In regard to the Holy Spirit and gifts, we had a sermon series on Life in the Spirit last year, and one of the talks was on 1 Corinthians 12, But I can't remember the main point of that particular talk. But generally I agree with 1 Cor 12:7 (Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good).

Its worst here today than yesterday, although the thunderstorm cooled things down last night, it is so humid and muggie today, in the mid 30's easily. We are forecast in canberra for 34 and another thunderstorm. suppose to be late 30's for the weekend.

There was a nice storm that passed through western Sydney at around 3pm that brought some decent rain. Tomorrow I've got the day off work so I'll make the most of my time inside methinks.

It looked like rain here the other day, smelt like rain...did rain...but I reckon it wasn't rain...just a flock of birds flying over.

hehehe....I adore the sound of rain on the roof too Kristian! Which reminds me...I'd better clean out the guttering....it just might rain one day.

We don't have gutters, but I do get on the roof occasionally to sweep it as we have an almost flat peaked roof and it gathers leaves, bark and small branches, which doesn't make it very safe in bushfire season. I learnt during the first bushfire here that you don't clean up the yard and then climb on the roof to clear it, or you have to clean the yard all over again.

It's 9.30am and I'm just going to put the aircon on. At least my son's unifore that he will need for this afternoon will dry well in this weather.

It's that hot today that I just went to check if someone had shut off the aircon. I also closed the blinds on the side of the house which gets afternoon sun.

Oh, what I wouldn't give to be bopping about in shorts and a tank top! We're having a nice spell now - in the low 40's (Fahr.) but the weather's supposed to dip back down into the single digits this weekend. (sigh) That's winter for ya.

How's the frigid South these days? We had such a lovely day today (in the 40's mind you) that I felt like springing on the bike and taking a nice ride round town! Too bad I had to work instead.

How's the heatwave, you Aussies? Are you all surviving ok? No one's burst into spontaneous combustion yet, huh? Haven't heard from Droobie in a while - he still stalking the planet or has he found a nice underground cave to keep cool in?

I keep hearing that song from "the Year Without a Santa Claus" - you know, the Miser brothers and their "I'm Mister Green Christmas, I'm Mister White Christmas" routine. "How about we send a little snow to Southtown?"

I'll trade ya a snowball and a bucket of ice for that tropical breeze, whadda ya say?

Kidding. It's not TOO bad. Played tennis in a t-shirt, but grassboarding required a jacket. Probably around mid-40's, I'd say. That's the thing 'bout beach weather. It changes every single day. Tomorrow, the high is...hm...I think it's 60. It's "cuh-WAZY!"
