We're Adoptive Parents!

Just wanted to post an introduction here. We adopted from China back in September of '05. It was an incredible experience and continues to be.

We are active in our local church's adoption ministry, which is basically information sharing based.

We'd love the opportunity to answer questions, encourage others or meet any needs we can for people here.

Congrats on your daughter! I have been considering adoption for awhile. How long did it take you to complete your international adoption?

We adopted 3 girls from foster care. We wanted to help children in our community. Maybe you should consider that instead of going over seas.

I'm happy that worked for you. If our laws favored the adopted parent over the biological parent when there's a child in need, we would be adopting domestically too. I try not to criticize how another expands their family. It's the fact that they have expanded their family that counts.

Congratulations, COGHOBDOJ! How is your little one doing?

We're in the process of adopting from Ethiopia - doing the home study and working on the dossier now.
