I was having a debate in the eschatology forum over Lutheran theology concerning the rapture. I was wondering does the WELS denomination teach a "catching away" on the last day?

No. The WELS officially teaches that a "rapture" as a separated event from the second commig is false teaching and based on a deep misunderstanding of 1 Thessalonians.

As was stated in the earlier response, the WELS rejects a "catching away" aka Rapture as described in Millennialism.
