• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Does anyone have any experience with this medication? A friend thinks I should try it since I've been having deep depression along with bad thoughts every day for the past couple of days.

My advice is to see a Psychiatrist or your Primary Care Physician and let them diagnose you properly so you can get the medication and treatment you need. Depression over a long period of time can mean the receptors in the brain just do not work properly. Medication helps to solve that. But you should get all your advice and diagnosis from a physician.

Hello There,
I'm on it as well, I find if I don't take it 'on' time I do get little anxious and edgy it keeps me from what family says "radical" and going off walls, I take it 2x a day at 75mg so it does help as well as feeling energetic I get a lot done on it, as well as some rest if I am tired it doesn't keep me awake. But I do agree talk to a Dr, counselor or who ever does the medications to prescribe, some do well some don't. have to find what works for you... Good luck...

I have been on it for three years now, along with Pristiq. One thing that I found with Welbutrin, is that I absolutely have to take it with food. I started taking it when I was in the hospital and I would take the pill in the morning, by lunch I would be feeling nauseous with stomach cramps. They were about to put me in isolation, but then I figured out it had to be the medication. Tried with food, and voila! no more feeling sick!

I agree as well that you really should visit your doctor and be diagnosed, so that you can be monitored with new meds.

I have been taking Wellbutrin for about two years now alongside of citalopram (anti-depressant). Wellbutrin was necessary for a few reasons, one being that it helps offset the side effects of some anti-depressants which made me very fatigued and I was a zombie all day. So it helped with an energy boost and I can take it with no side effects. Those medications are strong so if you start to take them don't just completely stop taking them, you will withdrawal and it is not fun.
