• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Weird handwritingy-thing.

Okay.

Whenever I get bored, or people start to argue around me, I get an overwhelming urge to start writing in something which looks like Arabi- in the Arabic alphabet, at least, but of a language I don't know - and I don't know Arabic, but I can recognise {some} Arabic letters.

I seem to do this all of the time whenever there's something which is happening. I also sometimes write things such as 'IESVS NAZARENVS REX IVDÆORVM', 'AMEN' (in Hebrew), etc. A church helper at my local church I go to informally says that I'm possessed by a demon of some sort.

Anyone else have an opinion? Am I being possessed by an evil demon which is trying to take me to Hell? :p

Have you ever had your wierd handwriting analyze or translated to determine if it says anything? i would be interested in the results of that.

BTW, It may not necessarily be demonic. It may even be related to tongues which many Pentacostal/Chrasimatic churches adhere to as one of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit (see I Corinth chapters 12-14). If you are a Christian, then you shouldn't be concerned that some demon is possesing you down to hell. If you are God's child, you have God's Holy Spirit. And therefore cannot not be possessed. But if you never given your life to Jesus, do so soon.

I haven't had my handwriting analysed or translated yet, because I don't know anyone in person who speaks Arabic - I know a lass who speaks Urdu, and she's always trying to tell me it's exactly the same, but I study linguistics at university and have a friend from Canada who speaks Arabic- they're not.

Does anyone know a site which would allow free (I'm poor) analysed, in any way?

I hope it's the gift of tongues from the Holy Spirit, but the local guy at the church claims it's evil, and possibly a curse put on me by Witches... .... ... (what?)

I am a Christian, and I pray (or try to) three times a day, so if I WAS possessed, then fair play to it for getting past my faith. :D

Hmmmm....

I've googled several Arabic translation site for you. Maybe you can plug in a few handwritten words and see if anything makes any sense.

http://www.stars21.com/index.html?pname=african&aname=arabic&fname=dict_ar&word=

http://www-old.ectaco.com/online/diction.php3?lang=3

Heres an Arabic online bible:

http://www.ibs.org/bibles/arabic/index.php

Let me know if this helps.
Hmm, the sites look useful, but because I can't reocgnise the letters when they are joined up, I'm not capable of writing them onto the computer and getting the result of what I wanted.

I'll look through the Arabic bible sometime, but there is a LOTof the Bible to read, or even skim through. ;)

it sounds like you have "automatic hand writing"!

It can be used by the demonic, some even think the Holy Spirit can use (like someone else said) another tool of the gifts of the spirit.

for you it seems to happen when you are bored or there is strife. That might seem to have a demonic root to it.

Pray about it and see if the Lord shows you anything about that situation.

In Christ,

In Christ,
I have done that, and I've said that if it's not of God, then I don't want it. It's still here.

It's not when I'm in strife mostly, since when I'm in strife I just write about that person in other languages.

When other people are arguing, then I tend to do it.

I dunno -
But you are writing in symbols, perhaps you can go to a bookstore and look at their arabic new testament and see if it looks similar. Writing in tongues? I have never heard of it -- IF you cannot control it, I would view it as "not of God"

Maybe something called-
? hypergraphia
Definition of Hypergraphia

Hypergraphia: The driving compulsion to write; the overwhelming urge to write. Hypergraphia may compel someone to keep a voluminous journal, to jot off frequent letters to the editor, to write on toilet paper if nothing else is available, and perhaps even to compile a dictionary. Hypergraphia is the opposite of writer's block.
Temporal lobe epilepsy is associated with hypergraphia. This association has been known at least as early as 1974 (Waxman SG, Geschwind N. Hypergraphia in temporal lobe epilepsy. Neurology. 1974;24:629-36). A number of prolific writer may have had temporal lobe epilepsy, including Byron, Dante, Dostoevsky, Molière, Petrarch, Poe, and Tennyson. Hypergraphia has also been called the midnight disease.

What I was hoping is that if InnocentOdion could decipher what he was writing, maybe a message would emerge. then we could maybe make a determination from the message whther or not it was from God. If it truns out not to be Biblical, then I would agree that it is not from God.

But didn't God's Spirit inspire the hands of the Biblical writers? Not suggesting, of course, that we need to add to the Bible, but perhaps it would be a prophesy directed at an individual or specific church.

As I said, I can't understand what I'm writing, unfortunatley, but in a way, I DO sometimes have a compelling urge to write, and I do write on tissue paper, write lots of e-mails to people, etc.

I've never heard of hypergraphia, but I'll keep it in mind, but would it really be that, do you think? I'm not too sure as of yet, because I don't always have the urge, and I don't write it in places I normally write; when I write something which I understand and it isn't doodles, it tends to go in a straight line along the page.

With this, I will write one bit at the top, another bit further down, and then another bit elsewhere, but I tend to write it between the lines.

Hmmmm.

I believe it's Latin.

translating to "Jesus the Nazarene, King of the Jews

or INRI, the letters inscribed on the cross.

You have probably seen it , but not really knowing it. I would not be willing to discount it being the Holy Spirit in you. On a few occasions, when my wife was deep in worship, she was moved to speak in tongue. I have never heard her, and didn't know about it until my MIL told me. I talked to her about it, and my wife says it's like a zibberish, and she would be highly embarrased if she did that in our church.

You might want to stay away from that church helper .
