  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I typically listen to Christian music and radio.....however, when I lift weights I gotta have some destruction going on in my head with my mp3 player...

ACDC
Metallica
etc.

Anyone else the same....otherwise I gotta listen to all that Beyonce/JLO/Brittany crap that the health club pipes into the gym.

I'll listen to anything from Haste The Day and As I Lay Dying, to Ice Cube and Tool, System of a Down.....but I ALWAYS listen to hard stuff when I lift. The radio station playing in the gym plays Chicago's 'alternative' station, which sometimes isn't too bad, at least for lifting.

From the few times I've caught it, it's a pretty good station.

I prefer Alice in Chains, System of a Down, Nirvana, Guns n Roses, White Zombie, Rob Zombie, Smashing Pumpkins, Tool, Pixies, and a few songs by Modest Mouse, Sonic Youth, and Neutral Milk Hotel. And if I feel like reliving high school, Powerman 5000.

Oh, and for the record squatpuke, I had squats. After high school football, I refused to ever do them again (at least with free weights). :)

I do my squats on a Smith Machine. Much safer for me, and I can go heavier that way. Plus, it's kinda hard for a guy almost 6'5" to get parallel with free weight squats. At least for me it is.
