We also don't know how God was working in him.

I'm asking as far as repentance goes, do you think God works in a way that isn't mysterious?griff said,
I honestly don't understand what you're asking me.
Why am I not surprised. Can you life a sinless life? Can anyone? No? Well how dare God judge anyone for sinning! Yep, that's your logic.
Immaterial as the act of blotting has already been proven. The point here is judgment contrary to your previous assumption.Behe's Boy said,
I don't see the act of blotting in Rev 20:15...
Any instance where a name can be removed is applicable. Furthermore, just our Lord and the Apostles affirmation that a name could be stricken from the Book of Life destroys Calvinism.Behe's Boy said,
and Rev 22:19 is not applicable here...

And becoming one with the wood probably had nothing to do with it...
First, we are NOT held accountable for our sins. I thought you were Reformed? Then why is he held accountable for his sins?
First, we are NOT held accountable for our sins. I thought you were Reformed?
Second, even if we were held accountable the law of God don't care that there is a law of sin in us.
Doesn't this make justification more precious to you?
I cannot reconcile a Reformed person saying that we are "held accountable" for our sins.Maybe we are talking past each other. First, the "I thought you were reformed" comments can stop. We won't always agree on everything since monergism isn't a closed system.
Reconcile your statement with your eternal justification doctrine?Second if we aren't held accountable for our sins (humanity) then what is there to justify?

Your brand of Calvinism is confusing to me. You are saying that we have a free will and that we are "held accountable" for our sins. Both ideas are un-Reformed. Furthermore, I believe that you under estimate the deceitfulness of sin when you suggest that when we sin it is always willful. You seem to be saying Paul had two wills battling for supremacy and that he ultimately did what he really wanted.
But Paul did NOT have two wills. He said, "For to will is present with me, but how to perform that which is good I find not." Paul had one will which was to do good. He speaks of no conflicting will to sin at all. He clearly identified ignorance as the problem. This speaks to the deceitfulness of sin reality. Christ's work of atonement took care of our ignorance too. Therefore, we are NOT held accountable when we sin for Christ by His atonement is our wisdom, righteousness, sanctification and redemption (1 Cor. 1:30).
Jesus said of those who beat Him and crucified Him, "Father forgive them for they know not what they do." Yet I am to believe that I am "held accountable" for my ignorance?
Are we (justified sinners) held accountable for our sins?Let's try this again, maybe step by step. You seem pretty worked up over this.
Are we (people in general) sinners?
Are we (justified sinners) held accountable for our sins?
Are we (justified sinners) held accountable for our sins?
Condemned? No. Responsible? Yes. We have no one to blame but ourselves when we sin. In that sense, we are held accountable for them.
Is there not Biblical support for sins of the will , ie , mortal sins , and sins of unwilling , venial sin ?
We are responsible for every sin we commit , even the sin of ignorance is blameworthy .
When Paul speaks of his problem with sin , Rom 7 , he does say "I yet not I " meaning he did sin but not intentionally , he explained sin as the guilty party for the very reason he willed to do only good .... Sin tricked him .
So who is responsible for sinning ? Always the sinner , yet Paul had no misgivings about pointing the finger at the prime suspect , sin itself.
Again, a very good reason to cast away your transgressions, to lay aside the sin which besets us, flee fornication, cast away our abominations, and to lay aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings.
Sin will only trick you if leave it within your heart. And to think you don't need to remove sin, is yet another trick by which it deceives you.
