  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Actual PM correspondence this morning:

YZ: How was your weekend?
ME: "same old, same old".
YZ: Do you ever get tired of that?
ME: I am a happy hermit so it does not bother me.

I sit in front of the PC most of he weekend on CF or doing web design.
Move to the couch to read.
And do some chores in between.

What do you all do?
Do you get tired of doing the same old thing?

Oh man. The hermit lifestyle is not made for me. I would prefer a bullet in the head.
Went out with friends on fri night. Slept waaaay in on saturday. Went out to breakfast around 1:30pm. :) Went to the beach. Went on a bike ride then dinner. Went out sat night w/different group. Didn't go to church, something i'm regretting now. Hung out w/some same friends sunday, then had a few beers later. Crazy friend from out of town showed upat 2:30 am and brought 6 friends w/him. Kicked him out,,had to be up for work at 5:30am. LOL

I can't do the hermit thing...I must have social interaction. :)

Joined the BF on Friday night for a bottle of wine with his father and uncle. Very fun family.

More QT with the BF on Saturday. Went to a LAN party Saturday night that broke up at around 4AM on Sunday. Went to bed at around 5. Woke up at noon. Didn't get out of bed until 1:00. Studied some. Listened to my roommate and her kids scream at each other for most of the night. Turned out the lights at about midnight, out of bed at 6 for another fantastic week.

I'll miss my weekend. :sigh:

I was trekking my way across the expansive nothingness between Toronto and Montreal this weekend. My dad and I are trying to get to every North American baseball stadium, and figured we'd better see the Expos while they're still around.

Other than that, I'm usually out with friends on the weekends. My friends all run in differenet groups, so I see them sparatically enough that one or two of them is usually free.

If nothing's going on, I lift weights or simply watch TV and thank God I actually don't have some pressing matter that demands my attention. Working two jobs, running an invesment club and being a youth-group leader type mentor guy means your time is divided up amongst different groups that all feel THEY should be the focus. So when I find myself on the couch with a pizza, a beer (or coke) and a baseball game, I'm so content that I really don't want anything to do.

I thouroughly enjoy that deep breath and sigh that comes with having a blank agenda. to me, it's freedom.

My weekends stay fairly tied up. Most of my friends live away, so if I want to see them, I usually have to travel to were they are, which is ok with me! :) I can usually find something to get into around here if I want. And there there are those domestic chores that always seem to be waiting for me to do. Somehow the maid never seems to show up when I need her! :) If I don't have anything planned, I relish getting a few moments to get lost in a good book. THose don't seem to happen as much as I wish they did....:sigh:

I have the opposite problem...too much for my own good. Forgotten what I did friday nite (it seems that long ago). Saturday got suckered into shopping with a lady friend, then went to a church service in the evening, had dinner with friends. Sunday got to church early 6:30am, played worship for a couple of services (was at the church until 12:30pm). Rushed home to get ready for my soccer game, then rushed back home to get ready for the tail end of a wedding shower (they decided to go with the couple weddign shower thing...I sent my gift in advance incase I wouldn't have made it). I need a vacation. :sigh:

Last weekend was the first in AGES where I wasn't working, away, or sick. It was the first weekend in months where I could just kick back and do NOTHING. So I did a lot of nothing. I slept, ate, read, and wrote. I spent some time with good friends (including a fantastic football game on Sunday. Go Esks!). And I spent some quality time at the gym.

I never get tired of my weekends because no two are the same and I am usually working or busy with other stuff. :)

Weekend. Hmmm...

Friday night went to church! After the service I helped clean (my small group's on rotation), then a couple of the off campus small groups stayed and turned out all the lights in the whole church and played sardines (it's a variant of hide and seek in the dark).

Saturday I bought new tires for my car and ran errands. Then I went to a house warming party where we watched movies and ate pizza pockets (which is funny considering the new place is in the mountains, but I guess you have to warm the house).

Sunday went to church! We had our State of the Church Address, which took a while (but included lunch with the congregation). Then I took a nap! Then I had a small group leaders meeting and then a BBQ.

Then sleep!

Last weekend I met a yahoo singles group at an area restaurant for dinner  and later went to a bookstore ;) .
Saturday - volunteered at church till noon, (the regular helpers were off rebuilding areas hit by Hurricane Charley.)
Went grocery shopping and did some laundry and did my daily study.
Then off to Tampa to watch 10 of my girls play (soccer - 8 at USF & 2 at Stetson). Fortunately the game ended in a tie. Stayed to hug my girls & talk to both college coaches about future players.
Made it home about 11 p.m.
Sunday - church from 8 till noon (helping out because of Charley)
mowed the lawn & ate
back to church at 4:45 for my 2.5 hour Disciple class

Soooooooooooooooo happy to see Monday!!

I usually get up way too late on Saturday, decide what to eat for breakfast (usually pancakes or something fun, or fast food), then go do laundry or clean my apartment. Then, I try and do something fun or just vary up the day with things I want to do instead of what I actually have to do. Lately I've been watching the olympics. Sometimes I'll go visit my family or bro. Every once in a blue moon I'll go on a date  . Sometimes I will spend time with friends and go see a movie or decide to do something random and pointless just because it's fun and doesn't have to do with studying. On Sundays lately I haven't gone to church, but I usually go to my home church that's about 45 minutes away from my school. Then I'll go and get lunch or cook lunch and since school has started again I'll have study time Sunday afternoon. It kinda varies week to week though depending on what I need to get done and if all my friends decide they want to see me on the same weekend for some reason (they tend to do that sometimes).
