  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I just returned from the wedding and the food was the best I've ever had at a reception. Steak & lobster with twice baked potatos & asparragus.

The wedding ceremony was good but the food was great! ^_^

Red meat isn't red if you cook it well done and the shell can be easily removed from the lobster.

just sayin....

oh I know, I just don't eat it becuz of animal rights reasons --
anything on 4 legs actually.
& the shellfish -- they're scavengers & I don't want to eat
that for health reasons PLUS they're boiled alive which I find
extremely inhumane.

thanks Steve =)
& I don't like forcing them on others either (except my
husband who hasn't had meat or shellfish cooked by me
in over 15 yrs.)
but that's ok, with my cooking, he's better off ordering
it from a restaurant anyways.

:holy:

Nadiine good for you I mean the whole not trying force your convictions on anyone that's really was my only with the vegiterians I knew back in college. I didn't really care what they ate or anyone else just so long as you don't whine at me for eating meat.

I was vegetarian for years~people would ask what I eat and I'd say anything that doesn't have a face ^_^

I applaud your convictions sister...

We all have our limits...mine is "woodland" creatures...deer, rabbit, squirrel and such.

I couldn't eat for the longest time....and still have a hard time with anything attached to bone. :o Hubby had to debone my food for a long time...and sometimes...he still does...like the chicken in crockpot today...I won't be able to watch him or even hear him cut it up...I won't be able to eat it if I do.

I tried being a vegetarian...'cause of the way the industry treats meat animals...and I couldn't eat tuna because of dolphins...and so on and so on...but I couldn't survive as a vegetarian and knowing we can eat anything Scripturally...I had to get over some of my "tenderness" toward food. And...sometimes I still get a little queasy over some things and then I'm just grateful for the food the Lord has provided...and move through it.

wait...what's this thread about again?...^_^

lol um, it's about wedding food? :p ^_^

Wow you & I are alot alike on this subject too.
For health reasons I couldn't continue being a strict
vegetarian as much as I'd have liked to. I could easily
do it, just that I got pretty weak & tired alot.
Plus soy for protein isn't healthy either after doing research on soy.

So....... I do poultry & eggs for protein & that's about enough.

I have to admit tho, steak on a grill sure does smell YUMMY :yum::yum:-
just can't bring myself to touch it. I haven't eaten meat since
about -- 1991 when I first found out about PETA after seeing
a horrific bull fight on tv after I first moved to Calif.

I can't handle anything on a bone either - in fact one time I
tried to make my husband happy after feeling so guilty for
so many years of no meat or shellfish that I bought some
shrimp for him & I had to de-vein it or clean it or whatever
you call that process.
I was having hot sweats & dry heaves & couldn't finish doing it.
LOL
I just can't handle this stuff - I don't know how other people do it.
^_^

There were other choices. Chicken marsala, vegeterian lasagna, etc.

Not to worry, no one was forced to eat steak & lobster. :p^_^

Your thoughts may change on that if you ever move to TEXAS sister...;)...mine sure did...we have a whole different outlook on cows here...:sorry:

One line I will prolly never cross...is ordering any dish with "chicken" in a Chinese Restaurant......^_^

It's strange how our values change over our lives...I started out a nature freak...happy in my little cabin...livin' off the land...being vegetarian...choppin' wood...no phone, no vehicle, no tv...barely having electricity....my friends called me "Pioneer Woman"...LOL...and thought I was absolutely whacked! Sometimes they would come kidnap me and force me back into civilization for the weekend...

Now...here I am...smack dab in the middle of suburban TEXAS...lovin' a good grilled steak...and driving an SUV!...:doh:I spend more time on the puter than I would have ever believed possible...I have a cell phone, satellite tv and more house than I can clean....Who woulda thunk it...^_^

And you know what my hearts desire is...??...and what we actually plan to do...is get out of the "burbs" move back to the country...and I might even raise my own "steaks"...:yum: Yeee Hawwww! giddy-up!...SIMPLIFY!

Our wedding was so much fun and so hysterical! We had a small wedding here in the house with family and few friends...

Watching the video of our wedding...we just laugh and laugh...right after we took our vows and the pastor pronounced us man and wife...the caterers knocked on the door and the dogs went NUTZ! Like right on cue to bark their congratulations...(and yes...we kept our vegetarian guests in mind too!)

The man who photographed the wedding...kept tiptoeing back and forth quietly taking photos in front of the video camera...it's hysterical to watch. Here comes Pete...there goes Pete...here comes Pete...there goes Pete...all tippy toe ^_^

Our cake...I dunno what happened in communication to the baker...I asked for a simple cake with these little pearl like confections...and hubby didn't know...he just picked it up like I asked him too...and when we opened the box...the cake had these giant silver balls all over it arranged like hubcaps. It looked like more like a heavy metal industrial cake than a wedding cake!Oh but it was DELISH!

It was the BEST wedding...and praise God...our hope of a small God centered wedding and marriage with a 30 year honeymoon...just keeps getting better and better!
