I'm glad I'm not the only one! Do you mind me asking what sort of ceremony you wound up having? Did you stick with a lot of tradition, or a little? Don and I are having a simple ceremony and reception; no flowers, no caterer, no DJ, no band, no ushers, no bridesmaids or groomsmen, no garter, no this or that or the otherSimplifying things makes for a much happier and less stressful affair, I must say.
Sure, things are way easier when you just skip whatever you absolutely don't have to have. Our wedding was at this christian event center... They would ahve been closed that day if we didn't have our wedding then so we got to use the church and other places as much as we liked without disturbing anyone. We also managed to get some kitchen staff from them so the most important things were easy to manage: the ceremony and reception were within 100m distance from each other and we didn't have to call a hundred places just to get a church and a reception place and food LOL. xD
Well we had a mass at church and then a couple of hours of reception at the other facility; mainly we just had some food and coffee, and everyone wanted to speak. A couple of friends had offered to sing for us and then the bridesmaids had some program for like 15 minutes but that was about it withe the tradition.
