CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Absolutely. I had an idea of what I thought would look good on me and sheath dresses seemed almost too shapeless, but the sheath dresses looked the best on me and my wedding dress was a sheath dress. I guess I have enough natural shape that I didn't need much from a dress.

This picture also cracks me up.
FTR, the little girl (one of my students) got caught it. And my friend who was trying so hard to catch it in the first picture just got engaged to the guy holding up the little boy in the second picture above
The DJ had us do a dance to see who had been married the longest, and we were surprised/encouraged to discover that it took him a really long time to get everyone but one couple off the floor. The couple that won had been married 60 years. My parents had been married 35 years and my husband's parents had been married 29 years.
Kirk came at me to the sound of JAWS music...

OK, appointment to try on dresses set for Saturday at 11:00! I'm so nervous lol. I don't even wear skirts, let alone dresses, and I have NO idea what I'm doing! Should I wear special undergarments or anything? lol

I don't think you "need" anything special, but if you have a body shaper, I'd wear it. They're comfy but they smooth out any bumps you have. Like..I have muffin top (AHAHA) so I wore one to make sure my muffin top didn't stick out more than the rest of my fat.
Wear a nice bra/undergarments. There will be a lady to help you try things on and you don't want to be embarrassed. HAHAH.
Also, try on their suggestions. Sometimes we have preconceived notions about what will look good, but it's their JOB to know what will look good on different body types. TAKE YOUR MOM. You'll need and want her opinion.

Yes I would say it depends a lot on what shape of fat you have. Actually mine is bloat; I can literally shift around 6-10 inches any given day O_O and it is mostly in the front. That's why empire did not work on me; it made me look pregnant as it settled rather nicely over my bump, lol. I have thin arms, legs, and a nice thin back and backside, so people CONSTANTLY think I'm pregnant.

Yes, Mom is going with me, and I will gladly take their suggestions, since I have no clue what'll look good on me. I've heard some consultants dislike brides who just say "I don't know what I want"... well, tough. I really don't know lol.

Celtic, I never tried on any dresses as I knew I wanted to make my own though it was hard to resist while shopping at bridal stores with my bridesmaids for their dresses and I hadnt even started making my dress yet. lol.
I'm sure that is super fun! I would recommend wearing white or neutral colored underwear and bra and strapless if you have so that you don't have to worry about how the top part will look.

Amber and I were talking about weddings the other day...and decided that if/when I get married..she will be wearing Belle's dress for it. Which works because I have dreamed of a yellow wedding anyway
And we also talked about a bunch of Disney songs I looove and would be awesome to have in my wedding (and Amber will song at least one

So, I reckon my wedding is just gonna end up being a Disney themed one....though, I've never really thought about it
I do need to look up princess wedding dresses
....I mean, doubt it will actually happen that way, going full out, but I can dream.
