  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

That's pretty, Jennie. I actually have looked at that before. So beautiful. I love how you can see so much of the outdoors.
I know! It would be like an indoor/outdoor wedding at the same time.

I love your pictures, Melissa! You guys look amazing. I love the cut/style of your dress.

Also..I have to admit, Im a bit jealous of your wedding cake. It almost looks too good to eat, and I possibly said the same thing when I saw it for the first time. lol

Love the picture the DJ took, very romantic and sweet!

Love the centerpiece for the table. And the flowers

Well, I have always wanted a non-white dress and I stuck to that. I wore a red dress. The color scheme wasn't picked by me. The church still had Christmas decorations up, but I really liked it. It probably looks a lot better than my original idea (of red and gold). And it helped make it very festive looking. Though I did go with my original color idea with my outfit. I wore gold heels with my red dress. (It was mostly because I love the colors red and gold, but there was the added bonus of those being traditional colors in Chinese weddings and general celebrations. Chinese traditional culture sees red as symbolizing joy and good luck, as does gold to a lesser extent.

And as far as delicious cakes, I got gingerbread and mint chocolate cake pops for the reception. I had originally wanted cupcakes because I thought a big cake didn't make sense for a small wedding/reception and it would be nicer for the guests (and me) for them to just get their own individual sized desserts and not have to wait for it all to be cut with stupid cake in face traditions. Cake pops seemed more fun and were about the same price for decent cupcakes.

Oh, and we went with traditional yellow gold wedding rings. I'm not a fan of white gold or platinum and just don't think those colors look good on me either. (No judgment against those who do like white gold, just not my style.)

I thought about posting pics here, but this is a public forum (and there's not even private sub-forums for registered members) and I don't want random people seeing me...especially in such a special moment.

I probably would have done a couple of things differently, if I could do it all over again, like some of the reception food and had a little more time for planning and additional pre-marital counseling sessions. But I'm very happy with how it turned out.

Cake pops or cupcakes are actually a great idea for me and Don, since we'll have a pretty small gathering. Would be nice to skip the bother of having to cut and serve a cake, too.
You could get chocolate and vanilla cake pops for you and Don, and when you bite into them put your arm around his like you would with champagne. :satisfied:
