  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I am currently taking singing lessons and plan on singing @ my future wedding (2007). Does anyone know of some real good slow songs that I might be able to sing for my hubby @ the reception? I want to surprise him but I need the PERFECT song. Oh and if it helps I'm Soprano so preferable a higher song.

Here are some songs you might want to look into:

With You - Geoff Moore

Fingerprints of God - Steven Curtis Chapmin

I Will Be Here - Steven Curtis Chapmin (He has a CD full of just Christian Love songs called All about love - you might want to chek into it)

THe Prayer - Celine Deon

One of two - Gary Chapman

When I see you Smile - Uncle Sam

Time of my life - Mark Schultz

Somewhere in the World - Wayne Watson

Most of these songs are by men, but when you get a track or music book there is a high vocal option. Chose that for a high range song (some of these would actually be really good if you sing them an octive higher than the artist)

Hope that helps!

I will be here - Steven Curtis Chapman is a nice song i totally agree. You'd need to change the key it is in so that it suits your range though, i'm a soprano and the CD version is not in the best range.

There's a song called "Unexpected Song" from the show Song & Dance (i think!)
the lyrics are nice and its pretty simple. I sang it and there is a really high part at the end (the hard part is the leap between notes) but you can just sing the lower notes instead and it works just as well

Lyrics are below:

I have never felt like this
For once I'm lost for words
Your smile has really thrown me
This is not like me at all
I never thought I'd know
The kind of love you've shown me

Now, no matter where I am
No matter what I do
I see your face appearing
Like an unexpected song
An unexpected song
That only we are hearing

I don't know what is going on
Can't work it out at all
Whatever made you choose me
I just can't believe my eyes
You look at me as though
You couldn't bear to lose me

Now, no matter where I am
No matter what I do
I see your face appearing
Like an unexpected song
An unexpected song
That only we are hearing

I have never felt like this
For once I'm lost for words
Your smile has really thrown me
This is not like me at all
I never thought I'd know
The kind of love you've shown me

Now, no matter where I am
No matter what I do
I see your face appearing
Like an unexpected song
An unexpected song
That only we are hearing

Like an unexpected song
An unexpected song
That only we are hearing
