• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

We will probably have 15-20 total. Given the venue we've chosen, it's hard to ask people to spend that kind of money to participate in our wedding.

If you had decided on a different venue, do you believe the guest list would have been significantly greater?

Probably. We both have friends and extended family that would be invited if we got married here locally. We're both from FL, so our families are pretty much all local. We may still have some sort of gathering with everyone when we get back, but it might be delayed a few months so we can save up for it.

As I am relocating to his country, there will probably be more guests on his side than on mine. I am not even certain my immediate family can attend, although I certainly hope they can.

Now we're curious. Where do you live now, and what country are you relocating to?

Neat! Do you speak Spanish? Have you ever been to Mexico?

:)

My father is from Mexico, hence we visited my paternal relatives there throughout my childhood and adolescence. I met my beloved in 1977 during a family vacation when we were a year old. Inasmuch as it was possible to fall in love, we did so at the age of five. Each time we saw one another, those sentiments would resurface, but we could not really act upon them for powerful (albeit unfounded) reasons. (It is a lengthy story!)

I was raised speaking both English and Spanish, although the latter could be improved! :D
