What is a good free webspace provider where I can upload many types of files? I don't need a webpage interface, but just to be able to link someone to pictures, Word documents, PDFs, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Havent used it in a while. Maybe you can use http://www.freewebspace.net/search/power.shtml
to search for free webspace with special specifications

Do you need your own domain name? If so, http://www.1sthostweb.com/ offers free 25mb with all the goods as long as you register your domain with them.

I don't think there are any free hosts that allow image hosting (remote image hosting?) you can use www.photobucket.com for that. As for the rest of the files, I think www.brinkster.com is good, cause I use it for my website.

No, it only costs the price of your domain name, which is $35 USD.. In other words, you would have your own .com address. For instance, I'm hosted on them and my address is http://www.northernprotocol.com/
You can use my site as a reference to how their servers perform and see if that is satisfactory for the price. To put things in perspective, to register a domain at http://www.networksolutions.com/ is $35 a year, and that's where I originally bought my domain name from. That's without any hosting at all.

YOu can get hosting for around 7.95 a month total cost, and some with a free domain. You can get domains for cheap as well, http://www.godaddy.com is well respected and they charge 7.95 for a domain. As with all things you will get what you pay for, free will likely not be worth the headaches you will encounter. There are many good discount webhosts out there. I work for one so I can't tell you about any of them here but search around, you can get hosting down to as low as 5.95 a month on a decent service, and that's cheaper than the company I work for. WIth godaddy and a good discount host you are looking at under 20.00 for the first month and under 10.00 a month after that.

Homestead.com offers services starting at $4.99 mo. (for now) and offers a site builder and a few other options.
My first web site with them was free. I set up the web pages and maintained them. I was able to register the domain name later when I could afford it. I do not know if they still offer their free services. They do have "Try it for Free" on the site at this time.

I tell you what...if your willing to pay a small 10 bucks you can get free webspace for the rest of your life...There is basically no restrictions, they say 50 MB of space but who knows how much I have on mine, I don't think they really check it. You can hotlink photos (put them on yoru server and make them available on this forum or anywhere) NO ADS, NO BANNERS, NO SPAM, NO NOTHING!!! Woo hoo!!!

Hey, can someone direct me to a place where I can upload my files(songs, .mp3, .wav, 40 megabyte file(s))? I'm trying to upload a song for my bio on here but cant find any good place, trenzhost.com doesnt allow anything over 500kb..lol.

If your just using it to transfer files like that to school or whatever I would recomend www.250free.com as you get 250 MB of space, 2500 MB of bandwidth per monthMJS said:

Actually, i'm using it for hotlinking, more then 250k, obviously no restrictions for hotlinking is better(Music, Video, Audio, Images). T35 doesnt allow a single Upload file to be any bigger then 250kb, and the other one doesnt allow unlimited hotlinking unless you pay.
