Does any one no how I can effectively get more hits to my homepage without having to pay someone to do it.

Anywhere I can link up to and so on.

Its for the homepage on my profile, A computer forum.

If the site is good, the word will spread. Of course, you gotta lay the seed word before the word grows.

Hand submit your site to the search engines and make sure you follow their rules. Also, look for directory sites that will list your site. Just try to keep it uncluttered if you need to link back.

Not all search engines pay attention to the <meta /> tags. Google is one that doesn&#8217;t.

You'll have to do your homework to find directories that will list you. Perhaps you could exchange links with similar sites. There are also link exchange programs out there. And you could make up entrance pages that are key worded and meta tag coded that lead to your site/categories. This will boost your traffic with some search engines, but others list them.

Your site looks good. I would suggest making your categories (main board, gaming & other) stand out by changing the table/cell background to a contrasting colour, and to fix the top image.
