I'm not saying "you became sick of writing...so therefore you never want to write again." It's just those moments when you like to write as though you're running a race. But you're tired... and just want to express where you are. *take a breath* Man I'm tired...

I'm starting off on a novel... yet seems so long ahead of me... then I got some poems to correct... I HOPE I NEVER GET TIRED OF WRITING...that's something to think about....

how are YOU?

I can get so burnt out on writing, especially on those writing marathons, that I'll go for a week without writing. I think that is a bad thing to fall into because, a writer needs to write EVERY DAY. Even if it's jibberish, it needs to be done on a daily basis......."getting into the writing habit" . :)

I'm so close to being done with my manuscript...yet this last little section seems to be taking forever. I need to get my energy up and make that last effort!

AH! Don't give up... you walked a pretty long way... i'm proud of you completing your novel(i think it was). Once you're done... now you could take a breath... then read your novel again.

Don't quit...or else everyone here will get to laugh at you. HAHA...hahaha just kidding! Just make sure you finish up to the finish line and it will be a testimony to other writers to keep on writing their pieces despite how "boring" or "horrible" it is.

perserverance....keep up to the end! Think how you will feel when you add that last period! Then it's time for editing, proofreading, and such......yay! (at least you can run it through critiquing group...:) )

Have you sent out any query or cover letters yet? I'm assuming that your goal is to publish, correct? I ask because there are a few writers that put their novel to the pen just for personal goals and don't care about putting it into mainstream....

I haven't sent any yet, but I'm planning to once I'm done and have had a chance to do some proofreading. (I already have some agents picked out.)

This particular story started out as just a personal goal, but then the story grew on me and so now I want to seek publication. :)

Of course, you will let us know when the 'magic' happens, right? It'll be very interesting in going to the bookstore and seeing your name on the shelves.....:) That way, I can tell whoever I am with, 'Hey, I know that writer!'

I'll even get a copy, even though it's not my number one genre.....hehe. I critique'd a friends manuscript about a month and a half ago (it was Romance, by the way) and found it was a rather engrossing story. So, ya, i'll give yours a try! (that way, you can count on one copy being sold!...hehe)

At the moment, I'm sort of working on my story but at the same time I'm not, lol. Yeah, confusing.

But I have a summary of each future scene (about ten scenes ahead from where I already am on the computer) on paper, and I'm getting further and further (or farther and farther?) on that. But I seem to be stalling actually writing out the scenes on the computer. *sigh*

I think this one book may be a novel with all these ideas which are flowing into my head. I knew where I wanted my first book to end (what scene), so it was originally going to be a book series, but now it looks like it might be a novel book series, consisting of maybe 7 or 8 books or so. Depends on just how much I fit into each. My original idea of the ending is the same, but my characters are being bombarded by more and more things to get to that point. Haha, I'm putting them through so much...

Well, it's their fault really. They're driving this story, lol.

But I think I really need to start writing some each day. Even if it's only a a hundred words.

Writing is definitely a habit to get into on a DAILY basis.....(i'm a fine one to talk...hehe) Even if it's something very short. A little practice you can get into for the daily idea is to take one of your daily prayers and write it out to God, every day. If you've never done such a thing, all I can say is that it's interesting! :) It can lead to a very solid writing habit.

As far as the Fantasy genre, which I am currently involved, I find a significant amout of time is spent not writing at all but creating maps. At least I don't consider cartography actual writing. Until I get to populating the map and making the History of the world. Then it can get quite hectic!

I get so bored with my writing because by the time I put the words on paper, the story is so been-there done-that. I'm starting my second novel, waiting for word whether anybody is interested in my first mss, and trying to figure out how to get my overall vision into the computer.
