The Church I grew up in (and the one my parents still attend) recently pushed to raise about 2 million dollars for Church Restorations. Nothing wrong with that, but much of what they want to restore is mostly vanity. Something a small church doesn't need. They've been badgering members of their congregation to donate and said that some could even donate from their retirement savings. They also said that Satan himself might try to discourage people from the 2 million dollar project. So pretty much anyone who has a problem with these vanity restorations is somewhat being influenced by Satan..

lol.. yeah.. having objections that people should dip into their retirement savings or donate around (I believe..) about 30k per family in the next few years.. is working for Satan.

Christian charity only works when people are good. the free market is a good partial solution for a world full of separated souls because the wealthy do things with their wealth that in various ways benefit humanity. though ofc people are not perfect so the free market would not be either.

people might not know this but extreme poverty has decreased an absurd amount and it keeps dropping.

needing a 50 million $ jet seems to show that many Christians appear to have a lack of wisdom concerning why we should give money to the church and why we should give some money to those who teach us. though I know a lot of churches do a lot of good, and that's a relief.

and sometimes giving money to the poor is not such a great idea either. enabling people to keep taking advantage of you and to feed their addictions or vices is not good. in the time of Jesus there was probably less of these "abusive poor folk".

what is bad about capitalism is that some of us humans are not that well off in our ability to compete. the USA army, who has an endless thirst for pawns to fight in their wars, does not accept people with an IQ of 83 or lower because they can't do well enough to be worth it.

This is a lesson that I am learning right now and it is incredibly painful. I have always been an impulsive giver when I had it, sometimes even when I really could not afford it. I am being taken advantage of so bad right now it has sickened me. The person is not changing or trying. Monday is the last it will continue as it is right now, and it is ripping me in pieces because this is not how I usually operate.
