I want to praise God for revealing to my husband and I His will for our life, but in his due time. You see, years ago when my husband and I first got married, we struggled financially, career-wise, spiritually, etc. My husband was a certified teacher, unable to get a job doing anything else but subbing. I was working nights at a dead-end job, and we had a very "hum-drum" church existance. We liked our church and the people a lot, but the church was not a growing church, and we were not getting fed.
Years have gone by, and our lives have taken many turns, relocating from place to place, and taking various jobs, each job a step up from the last time. Our last place, the Baltimore area, my husband finally got a teaching job, and I got some great work in my field. However, we felt lost, and felt we didn't fit in. We could not find a church, and realized we were not cut out for urban living. This sounds cliche`, but we found who we were and our purpose, and found we were more effective in all aspects of our life in a rural area.
Now, God has opened up doors for us to return back to rural PA. We found a great, reasonably priced house to live in, and we are renting off a Christian couple. My husband went from teaching in a high risk urban school, to teaching in a rural Christian school, and he loves it. I am in the process of getting a new position in my field as well, and it seems like the perfect fit for me. Most importantly, there are so many churches to try where we moved to we don't know where to start. We want to attend and serve in a small to medium country church, with a laid back congregation but conservative preaching and teaching - lots of spiritual food! It seems there are several we can try in our new location till we find a church home.
Praise the Lord, we have finally found an earth home! I am eager to serve the Lord here!
