I have been trying to access the forum for what seems a week, and kept getting an error page saying address does not exist.

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

Most likely causes:

• You are not connected to the Internet.
• The website is encountering problems.
• There might be a typing error in the address.

Problem was? My Favorites link was still... www.foru.ms

Once I tried www.Christianforums.com? Bingo!

Many might not know what is happening. I thought the forum might have shut down. They might stop coming back after it keeps failing.

Someone should post an announcement about the URL change on the front page. Then they can come here and... um, wait. Something's wrong with that idea, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

Someone needs to reinstate the foru.ms link, and then make the announcement that the link will no longer be functional after a given date. In the mean time, there are probably many who think the administrator threw in the towel and shut the forum down. They will stop trying if they have no clue as to the cause. For the link always worked before.

I'm not sure if we still own it, but I'm going to ask to see if this is possible.

If foru.ms is still available, maybe that could be temporarily used as one of those "placeholder" pages, that does nothing more than forward to the new URL, and say, "Be sure to update your Bookmarks or Favorites with the new address!"

We're losing people. Some I have lost contact with, and through this forum was our only means. I can not email them to let them know the forum is still here. I hope they give it a try once its set up.

Doesn't the administration have the ability to email all members? With a notice?

By time the link is working again many may have given up as lost, and looked elsewhere.

If I did not try manually entering www.christianforums.com and bypass my Favorites link set up for foru.ms? I would not be here to tell you this! Many will not think of even trying that. I think all members should be emailed with a forum notice.
