We can remit others sins???

Who can forgive sins but God only?

Mt

16:19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and
whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and
whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.​

The disciples did not provide forgiveness, they proclaimed forgiveness on the basis of message of the gospel.

I have a friend that said she had a mother-in-law that was very mean and never accepted God - she said she loved her very much and when she was dying - she stepped in as an intercessor and remited her sins for her and she believes she is in Heaven.

I said no way - but she read scripture that says that by the cleanliness of your hands you can remit others sins.
I'll have to find the Scripture - But also John 20:23 -
Jesus said to the Deciples - "Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained."

Do you know of this Scripture and do you believe this is possible.

Thanks to Christinia - she found the Scripture - Job 22:30 - this muddies the water a little more. - He will even deliver one who is not innocent; Yes, he will be delivered by the purity of your hands.

Ok so I am a glutton for punishment - but if this helped a person - it was worth it.

I have revived this thread due to something that happened to me this morning.

I was on my way to exercise and I was praying for different people. We have a man in our neighborhood very sick and expected to die. I have been concerned for weeks over his soul - he is Mormon.

As I was driving and praying this verse above (Job 22-30) came to my mind - so I just said God if this is so - I stand in the gap for this man and remit his sins for him - I have never believed this before - but after searching out this Scripture and speaking with my Pastor and friend, it was very strong on me today to pray this prayer for this man.

When I got home - a neighbor called and said the neighbor had died - the exact time I was led to say that prayer.

Now I don't know if it was so or not - but if it wasn't I lost nothing - if it was true - that main gained everything.

Strange this verse came to my mind because I did not believe it 6 months ago and then a lot of you brought light to it when I posted and I felt that I was to pray it this morning.
