  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Back in the day I have used .45 cal rubber bullets (X Ring) which are still available and wax bullets outdoors in a 45 LC colt clone, 1911 and 45 LC lever. It's fun, true. But I don't have primers to spare as they are hard to find and more expensive. Also, unless primers are the lead free type, there is the lead styphenate dust that should be avoided. Don't want lead dust in the house. Sorry to be a wet blanket!

just found this, I just used the canning wax and had fun, there are several sites that sell wax bullets as well.
How to Make and Reload Wax Bullets
Saw an article in Guns and Ammo about 45 years ago, and they were doing just that; sealing wax (paraffin) and primers. I have never tried it.

BTW, no problem finding primers here in Canada.

you aren't, only on your fun, the rest of us will enjoy this aspect of our chosen sport.
best wishes

I've already had my fun back in the day. Today, primers are dear in my locale.
You might look at X ring rubber bullets and speer plastic bullets. For rifle you
might want to try gluelits. It's hot glue injected into a bullet mold. The castboolit
forum has a long thread on making gluelits. Have fun:wave: Pic of my old Xring and speer stuff:
