The web I walk out the door as my finger finds a cobweb on my face, what a bore. Brushing it aside I stride strongly to the barn. The chickens run amoke as chickens are want to do. Moo, Bessie goes moo . I will bring her some hey. What's this , a large dark space up there in the hey bales. Whatever could it be. So big it's bigger then me I will climb up and see. It's a web of enormous proportions. I turn contortions high up I go down below I see Bessie asking for hey. I got all day, say what brought me up here. Turning around I fall into the web. I can't move my arms and legs. This web is strong at least I'm on my back. Crack, crack, crack. I see it 6 inches around cracking the web an unearthly sound. The spider , for that is what it is comes for me cracking its advance. Crack, crack, crack. It's headed for my face I try not to yell . My wife is in the shower anyway and neighbors are few and far away. Its on my ear and I feel the wooly legs. Like wooden pegs. Climbing up towards my eye it pauses and I let out a sigh. Suddenly it climbs to my mouth. I close my lips in a determined pout. Then I consider, whynot , opening up as the spider goes in. I clench teeth on its wooly head. Dead and mouth full of goo I spit out the offending mouth then chew and swallow the spiders bloody remains. I am trapped and terrified is there another one ? Still, gathering my strength. I see the hey bales are precariously laid. Pulling them out still attached to the web. They tumble down and I with them to the ground. I look around Bessie is swishing her tail. The web has pulled off in one piece. Good riddance that. I Am free. Rushing back to the cottage , I have been through hell. I must tell Delores and make her believe me. Opening the door I yell for her . Where's the fire dear she says. Honey, we are moving !
