It's not like Eva is preaching Kabbalah, and besides, what should it matter, considering Kabbalah is a rogue sect of Judaism, not Christianity. BTW, there are some Gnostic symbols in Eva also, but most of it is just that-images. They aren't there to hide some deeper meaning about the universe, they're only there to provide the story with some plot devices and pretty pictures (yes, I'm saying that last part sarcastically). Most of Eva is Jungian psychoanalysis anyway.

Granted, yes, I became somewhat interested in Jewish mythology (and I do mean mythology, as in the legends that concern angels and whatnot not mentioned in the Bible) after watching Eva, and I am interested in the Unorthodox Christian beliefs that existed in the first few centuries of our faith, but I can discern between something like that and what I believe. As long as it doesn't lead you away from God and trusting Christ as your savior, or into adhering other things into your faith that aren't compatible, I don't see the problem.

It does use a lot of Christian symbols, and if someone thinks that Evangelion represents Christianity, then that's definintely a bad thing.

It doesn't really get blasphemous/anti-christian/new-age/agnostic until the movie though.

I don't think Evangelion is going to be converting anyone to or from any religion. If someone changes their religion after watching Eva, then it is entirely possible that they didn't have a strong faith in the first place.

Thats the thing though guys, it IS preaching it, its inching its way in, here and there.
nearly all high magick is kabalistic, what does that tell you about kabalism?
it is not something to be tooken lightly upon, correct, the series isn't as bad with it, it is more of the movie, but still, bad is bad.

How is it more in the movie? Considering most of the movie is Shinji torturing himself and being driven crazy. That's basically all the psychoanalysis I was talking about.

Well since director Anno himself does not believe in the Kabbalah or Christianity. It would be safe to say that they are there as a plot/theme device or visual symbol.
