how to make wasp traps?
If you have wasps in numbers there is a nest around.
Find the local nest.
Wasps no not fly at night.
Go at night and hose the nest out. All the wasps will tumble. You can then sweep them up, put them in a container, and deport them.

I find it easier to make fake wasp nests.
They don't like to live next to another nest.

Take a paper bag and mush it up a bit.
Inflate the bag a bit and tie the bottom shut.
Hang up in a protected place (under the roof of the building) from the wide end of the bag.
Make it look like a nest... Get ideas from a Google picture search.
Wasps will not stay where they think there is another nest that might attack them.

Here is my design...

Plastic bottle - make two holes.

Push short plastic pipe through.

Pipe has cut out facing down.

Bait in bottom - meat for flies, lemonade for wasps.

The one pictured is for flies and is full of them.

Use this about two years and fly population drops significantly.

For wasps place in position they frequent to prevent catching bees - they are territorial.

Questions welcome.
