Are we now pretending that there wasn't a universal chorus extolling just how sharp Biden was?
Are these the same cabinet members that participated in the big lie that Biden was "sharp as a tack"? Why in the world would anyone trust anything they say?
You clearly inferred a cabinet member was quoted describing Biden as "sharp as a tack". Do you wish to retract that statement?
I did not. The phrase "sharp as a tack" was repeated incessantly by this administration and the media. It was not intended to be a quote of any one person but of a narrative that was pushed. If you watch the video I posted, you'll hear it over and over (and over and over) again.
I watched the first 20 seconds....people talking with no identification etc. Sorry, I'm not going to waste my time on some youtuber.
In any case, the VP has no obligation to state the President is in decline unless he's no longer capable to carry out the duties of the office. The premise of this entire thread is Harris was obligated to tell the voters. There is no Constitutional or legal basis for that notion.
So if the VP sees noticeable decline in the abilities of the President, you don't think they have a responsibly to the American people to state that? I mean, maybe they don't have a Constitutional obligation, but don't you think the American people have a right to know if the President of the United States is having problems with his mental acuity?
The word "decline" is a euphemism. Saying that Harris knew Biden was in decline is the same as saying she knew Biden was getting older. The euphemism is benign. So how did this benign connotation get turned/spun into a negative connotation? In order to know if he declined too far, she’d have to know he was in a decline. So basically it’s, what did she know, and when did she know it?
The VP (and the Cabinet officers) have a duty to inform the nation if the President is no longer able to carry out his duties as President.
When a president's capabilities reach that level, yes, the VP should inform the American public.
Many observed Ronald Reagan's memory was declining during his 2nd term. Yet the VP did not make some public statement noting it.
Likewise, I would not expect Biden's VP to do the same.
They only said he was "sharp". The audio is comprised of snippets of people expressing Biden is still sharp while retirement home music plays in the background and the video shows replays of Biden in a senior moment. It's propaganda.I did not. The phrase "sharp as a tack" was repeated incessantly by this administration and the media. It was not intended to be a quote of any one person but of a narrative that was pushed. If you watch the video I posted, you'll hear it over and over (and over and over) again.
Decline isn’t the same as too old. Decline means decline. And everyone knows he is deep in decline. They realized that the cold excuse and jet lag excuse weren’t working. And many prominent people on the left were vocal. But not Kamala. The word "decline" is a euphemism. Saying that Harris knew Biden was in decline is the same as saying she knew Biden was getting older. It's utterly benign. So how did this benign connotation get turned/spun into a negative connotation?
If in fact she indicated that she would tell the American people if she felt he had declined too far, she means too old to do the job. Either we practice a positive prejudice, receiving her how we would want to be received, or we practice negative prejudice and insinuate she knew he was too old for the job but hid it from the American people without any proof. Only one of these prejudices can end in hypocritical judgment and slander.
See how this articulation below doesn't make any sense? It's suggesting Kamala is not a person worthy to lead the country based on the false narrative that she wasn't aware Biden was getting older.
"If she wasn’t, is she really the person to lead this country?"
There's a difference in just coming out publicly and saying something on CNN. It's another matter though to lack judgment in failing to either recognize this or take the appropriate steps contained within the constitution. Doing so would be a public declaration bit at least it's done properly. If the Vice President believes the POTUS can no longer carryout his duties, the VP along with the cabinet can invoke Section 4 of the 25th Amendment.
There is no indication that President Joe Biden is incapable of carrying out the duties of his office.
Constitution:
Section 4
Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.
The 25th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution
SECTION. 1. In case of the removal of the President from office or of his death or resignation, the Vice President shall become President.constitutioncenter.org
Once more, the notion that a VP would publicly call out the President for "his decline" is ludricous. Would you have expected VP George H.W. Bush to call out Regan's decline publicly?
QFTWIf she works as closely as reported, how could she not see the decline?
She withdrew from the presidential race with less than 1% support. The Democrats are really going to have their work cut out with her. She is NOT a good public speaker and she doesn't have a stuttering issue, and age cannot be a defense.
No and they are no better than Harris. It was a political move not to. They probably weighed the consequences in doing so and the political fallout and decided not to. Besides, this way they could run the show and just have Biden sign the papers. So?
Have any cabinet officers expressed concern that Biden is incapable of carrying out the duties of President for the remainder of his term?
Agreed. Decline is a verb not an adjective.Decline isn’t the same as too old.
Decline is a verb (meaning an action). In this context the action is qualified as "getting older". Getting older=losing one's youth.Decline means decline.
Yes, everyone knows he's 81.And everyone knows he is deep in decline.
Working with who, cynics? Look, I'm not a cynic. If doctors say Biden had covid I would just take their word for it. If he said he had jet lag, I take his word for it. I certainly wouldn't see it as an excuse for being 81.They realized that the cold excuse and jet lag excuse weren’t working.
All the prominent people I saw, that had said Biden should step aside, also said they felt he was fit to be President, but that his age was too negative of a factor as a candidate. And many prominent people on the left were vocal. But not Kamala.
This takes denial to a new level.Agreed. Decline is a verb not an adjective.

So, what? Maybe Kamala's smart enough to know it's not a good look for her to say the same since she's next in line. You need to realize that cynics can make something wrong no matter what people do or don't do.

Have you considered that Harris sincerely didn't feel Biden had declined too far to do the job? Did you consider that if she did say something cynicism could just as well contend that she only did so to get the nomination? Devil= accuser/slanderer.
What? I just re-read my post. I see no statement of denial. I challenge you to copy and paste the words that you claim qualify as a denial. This takes denial to a new level.
She should have said. "Joe, you are not up to it. Now get our of my way"?Was Vice President Harris aware of President Biden’s decline?
If she was, what does that say about her, especially since she said she would say something to the American people if the president declined too far.
If she wasn’t, is she really the person to lead this country?
When one sees another nearly everyday such “decline” isn’t abundantly apparent. If she works as closely as reported, how could she not see the decline?
You’d like her to put on a good showing but you want Trump to win, so I take your opinions with a boulder of salt. She withdrew from the presidential race with less than 1% support. The Democrats are really going to have their work cut out with her. She is NOT a good public speaker and she doesn't have a stuttering issue, and age cannot be a defense.
Was Harris loyal or too loyal ?In order to know if he declined too far, she’d have to know he was in a decline. So basically it’s, what did she know, and when did she know it?
