  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Was IT Really Easier For Jesus?

Yes,the Bible says that Jesus was tempted as we are now being tempted. I sometimes wonder if resisting temptation was easier for Jesus that it is for us.
Jesus, being the God-man,surely must have had more powers than us ordinary mortal men.

Now this is just my opinion.Jesus must not have been very tall,and/or very good looking. The Bible mentions how Saul, the first Hebrew, king was tall, and how the people liked him very much. So,if Jesus was not a very tall man, many women may not have been "throwing themselves at him",therefore tempting him. We all know how "gaga" many women go after tall and very good looking men. Jesus, most likely was an average looking man. If he was a pretty boy, very tall, and very handsome, people would not be listening to his words. People would just be distracted by his very good looks.

Jesus, also being God,had the power to chose and to create the type of body that he wished to have.

By the way, there are now some theories that Jesus was married. I do not believe this, because a married Jesus was not mentioned in any of the four Gospels. If Jesus was married, that fact would have been in all four major( or accepted) Gospels,

There is a joke in here somewhere about Jesus being married. But,I do want to say something that might be misunderstood as being blasphemous.

Well,we all know that the true purpose of Jesus coming to earth was not to "live a normal life" and to die of old age.

I found the verse. It is found in Isaiah 53:2

Parallel Verses

New International Version

He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.

New Living Translation

My servant grew up in the LORD's presence like a tender green shoot, like a root in dry ground. There was nothing beautiful or majestic about his appearance, nothing to attract us to him.

English Standard Version

For he grew up before him like a young plant, and like a root out of dry ground; he had no form or majesty that we should look at him, and no beauty that we should desire him.

New American Standard Bible

For He grew up before Him like a tender shoot, And like a root out of parched ground; He has no stately form or majesty That we should look upon Him, Nor appearance that we should be attracted to Him.

King James Bible

For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.

That is a tough question. Jesus lived perfectly. How many can say that?

I have also thought of suffering for only 9 hours or however many hours it was, on a cross. Compared to many many days of unbearable suffering.

I have to say, since God is merciful and kind to us and heals us, He must understand the pain we have suffered. I recall Him saying Him going through this suffering with us.

He was tempted in the same way. It wasn't easier for Him. It's the same for us because our old man died with Him, but if we don't believe that it doesn't profit us.
I read a book from Charles Fitch who achieved this goal.
Lol but imagening God lusting after one of His creatures is just too weird.

I don't understand that. Can you shed some light on that statement you made?

Sin Shall Not have Dominion over You
The Life and Christian Experience of Charles Fitch

http://www.temcat.com/011-Prayer-Prom/P ... -Fitch.pdf

Oh, since I have known my high privilege to reckon myself dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ my Lord, "thy name is as ointment poured forth." "Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love is better than wine. Draw me, we will run after thee: the king hath brought me into his chambers: we will be glad and rejoice in thee, we will remember thy love more than wine: [by His strength] the upright love thee." Song of Solomon 1: 3, 2, 4.
When the Holy Spirit thus enlightened me respecting me privilege of reckoning myself dead indeed unto sin, but alive to God through Jesus Christ my Lord, He that moment enabled me to avail myself of the privilege, and I instantly found myself more than restored to that blessed state of conscious purity of heart before God from which I had fallen by refusing to confess before men what my Savior had done for me.
The love of the world was gone; no sinful indulgence had any charm for me. My whole heart was won by Christ, and filled with overflowing love to Him, and I feel that a thousand hearts, had they been mine, would have been most joyfully consecrated to His service.

I have thought about that also.Would anyone of us want to have sex with something we created? That is one reason why I think that it was easier for Jesus to resist women.

Now,in some porn shops there are blow up plastic women. But,the guys ,who buy them are very weird.

I have heard it taught that Jesus emptied Himself of that which would have made it easier for Him. I believe this teaching is true as this resonates with the Jesus I know. He wants to relate fully with His creation, His bride, His kids, the ones He loves, and as an act of love this voluntary emptying was part of His sacrifce.

What temptation you talking bout?

I think in terms of women, of course, women were throwing themselves at him wanting to touch the hem of his garment. mary magdalene had seven devils cast out of her..i would think theyd have wanted to get their hands on Jesus.

Even though he wasnt good looking, some women may have been desperate. jesus resisted all this though. He fasted and resisted the devil when he offered him the world and all its charms.

I would say, if lust is a problem, you may consider going on a fast and asking Him to cleanse your heart and think lovely thoughts, meditating on the word of God as you do so.

Joseph was tempted by Pharoah's wife but he resisted. I imagine Jesus may have had women after him in the same way. Or even men. But mostly satan.

Judas was kinda gay. Otherwise why would he do what he did? Also, he kissed Jesus.

My goodness gracious me. Of course that must be it. He wasn't fond of money but just gay. All gays go around betraying and killing people.
It was and I think it still is there normal for men to kiss each other. Kiss each other with a brotherly kiss said Paul.
I once saw a program where someone betrayed a double secret agent and had him killed. You know why? Only because of money.
