Was I boastful?

A few months ago I posted this status on my facebook profile:

"Got notified that my short film "Behind the Counter" has been selected and will get a screening at BFI Future Film Festival in London! This is surreal!"

Does anyone think this status of mine seems a bit boastful?

Doesn't seem like it. To better discern if there is a boastful attitude, you would have to check out your intentions or the purpose behind what you say, and also the way in which you say it.

For example: "Got notified that my short film "Behind the Counter" has been selected and will get a screening at BFI Future Film Festival in London! This is surreal! I'm definitely the best in what I do! There's no one like me!"
This would be an example of how you would say something with a boastful attitude.

But as I said, your status doesn't seem boastful. But we don't know your heart and thoughts.

I think my intention was to let people know that I was serious about filmmaking. I felt that some people didn't think that it was my kind of field and by announcing my accomplishment would hopefully proof the contrary.

I believe that was the reason why I made that status.

Probably not, but it depends on what your motivations were. But if you were really trying to boastful, you could've done a much better job of it than that, so again, I doubt it.
