Show me where David & Goliath was a battle of champions. In not one of the scriptures you cited above does it indicate that these large men were killed in a battle of champions.
Show me where David & Goliath was a battle of champions.
If you think it was, how on Earth did David qualify?
On second thought ... never mind ... I wouldn't believe you anyway.
One can figure out Og's approx. height Deut. 3:11....a cubit is 18"So it seems as if we aren’t talking of a single anomaly but of a tribal characteristic of which Goliath was an outstanding example above the norm. That would explain why he is the only one whose height is specifically provided while others are just described as tall.
?
Gen 4:1 And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD.
Seems that would make him taller than Goliath. One can figure out Og's approx. height Deut. 3:11....a cubit is 18"
His bed was 13.5 ft. long.
I know.I did not say Cain was not EVE'S son, I said he wasn't Adam's son.
Essa and Jacob were both Issac and Rebecca's sons. But Essa forfeited his birthright from Issac. Cain also forfeited his birthright and Abel was dead. So Seth inherited as the next oldest son and so it is Seth who is listed in Adam lineage. And, as a result Cain was NOT Adam''s son. One human, one an abomination. One is the lamb, and one is the (scape)goat. This motif is throughout the canon, and apocrypha.
I know.
But the scripture says...
Adam knew Eve and she conceived and bare Cain.
There is no indication here, in fact quite the opposite, that Cain was not Adam's son. Abel was the righteous of the two boys and Eve says that God gave her Seth to replace Abel.
Essa and Jacob were both Issac and Rebecca's sons. But Essa forfeited his birthright from Issac. Cain also forfeited his birthright and Abel was dead. So Seth inherited as the next oldest son and so it is Seth who is listed in Adam lineage.
Birthright is a big deal, more important than age.
On top of that we have no way of knowing that all the sons listed in the genealogy were 'first born' sons. It is much more likely that they are the sons 'who walked with God' like Enoch did.
Your satan seed theory is noted and dismissed.Cain was never mentioned as Adam's son - ever. And, it doesn't matter if the son is evil or not, first born - especially fraternal or identical twins - are named, and their father is named also. ESAU is an example of this; God hated him. The canon lays out the first born men who lead to Christ; Cain's conception categorically implied usurpation - which is why Seth was appointed. Cain is the serpents seed of which God put enmity between man. But, other angels than Azazel assaulted human women and men for procreation unt Noah - a guy who was likely not a saint, but had 100% perfect generations i.e. no DNA mixed with angels, or transhumanism.
You have a circumstance where you are told Adam and Eve made love, and therefore Cain must be their son. This is a fallacy, specifically because the implication has nothing to do with fathers, and everything to do with Eve.
There is a reason why Genesis 3 - 6 have classic literary rising-climax-falling structure: it is life. Also, it is like a divine correction of what could be/likely is a mistake and/or omissions of data. The confusion is supposed to compel you to find out the full details, and the kernel of truth is that help from Him. Another instance of this "divine correction" even in mistaken is when Paul, a person who many people think is heretical, tells us to test the spirits from which we all hear alleged things of God.
In the Apocrypha (about 20 more books than the book of Enoch,) it is straight forward: Some principalities, and archon wanted to make life in their own image, but couldnt. The watchers figured they could just hijack our fertile genetics and use us as vessels to produce their offspring in their image. Azazel, the chief of them, made a pact with all of the other angels participating, and they proceeded to do it. Azazel (who has a serpent avatar) approached Adam and Eve, and their succumbing to temptation abdicated their dominion, introduced sin on this planet, and allowed the rest of the watchers to do the same thing. In Enoch, they were forced to watch their children kill each other off while in chains, and something else that, in Enoch, makes Michael and some other arch angels absolutely terrified of the punishment.
Golliath is generations down the line of an example of hybrid genetics, as opposed to "giantism," or acromegaly. So was Og. Goliath was a Rephaim, and Og was an Anakim, I believe (races of hybrids.)
Indeed. Acromegaly doesn't necessarily make you 'ill' in your prime, except in extreme cases. Excess growth hormone makes you unusually large and that alone will tend to make you slower and more cumbersome than smaller men. But training can make you unusually strong, so if Goliath had the condition, he could have been hugely intimidating to face in individual combat; but his relative lack of mobility would probably limit his effective fighting range to hand-to-hand combat (he'd probably be the wrestling champion) - but in expert hands a slingshot can be deadly at more than 25 yards.True, some big people do tend to be slow and clumsy. This is seen in boxing when a smaller boxer winds up either easily outpointing them or else knocking them out as happened Primo Carnera and that other fellow who fought Dempsey.
I haven't proposed any Satan seed theory in reference to Goliath or any of the other tall people after the Flood..Your satan seed theory is noted and dismissed.
I didn't post that to you. Look again.I haven't proposed any Satan seed theory in reference to Goliath or any of the other tall people after the Flood..
There I go again! Sorry my bad!I didn't post that to you. Look again.
Dont know if it matters the dna...
But the truth is these guys were huge......
Numbers 13:33
Descendents of Anak.....
Caleb personally went after these anakim
Joshua 15:14
Joshua didnt kill all the giants....
Joshua 11:21-22
There were giants in hebron debir anab
All the hill country of Judah
All the hill country of Israel
Numbers 13:33
...we looked like grasshoppers in their sight....
I believe the main 2 terms for giants are
1. Nephelim...the big ones
2. Rephaim...the smaller ones
The word NEPHALIm is used 2 times in the bible
Genesis 6:4
Numbers 13:33
The nephilim were the big ones before the flood.....
Bible doesnt say but maybe around 20-30 feet with some as tall as 35-40...... Thats as tall as a telephone post
More like the Narnia giants!!!!
The smaller ones were the. REphaim
Ex. OG was a rephaiim and was at least 12-13 feet tall
Probably weighed around 900-1000 lbs.....
The really important word is NEPHALIM
These were stories passed down from Noahs boys to Abraham......that these guys could destroy armies with a kick or a tree trunk......
Ex. If you saw the movie Jack and the bean stalk
Thats probably more realistic.....
The problem with the 10 spies and the people in Moses days were how big are the Giants.....?????
The 10 spies claimed they were NEPHALIM.....who somehow mutated from the flood....
Also I believe Canaan was cursed by Noah for his sin....
In other words they were claiming they were 20-30 feet tall......
So you can imagine this discusion in those days.....
I doubt it, since Goliath had four brothers of equal stature.
2 Samuel 21:15 Moreover the Philistines had yet war again with Israel; and David went down, and his servants with him, and fought against the Philistines: and David waxed faint.
16 And Ishbibenob, which was of the sons of the giant, the weight of whose spear weighed three hundred shekels of brass in weight, he being girded with a new sword, thought to have slain David.
17 But Abishai the son of Zeruiah succoured him, and smote the Philistine, and killed him. Then the men of David sware unto him, saying, Thou shalt go no more out with us to battle, that thou quench not the light of Israel.
18 And it came to pass after this, that there was again a battle with the Philistines at Gob: then Sibbechai the Hushathite slew Saph, which was of the sons of the giant.
19 And there was again a battle in Gob with the Philistines, where Elhanan the son of Jaareoregim, a Bethlehemite, slew the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver's beam.
20 And there was yet a battle in Gath, where was a man of great stature, that had on every hand six fingers, and on every foot six toes, four and twenty in number; and he also was born to the giant.
21 And when he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimea the brother of David slew him.
22 These four were born to the giant in Gath, and fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.
