Was D&D locked?

I can't reply to any posts in D&D, nor can I start a new thread there.

Was it locked without the consensus of the members here? If so, who did it?

I don't understand why the few that come here to cause problems for us get to dictate what we can and cannot do in our forum.

They come here and report US so our threads get closed and now an entire section is shut down because of them?

The posters that we have problems with, some of them anyway, have admitted that they don't just want to debate...they want to "persuade" us that we have the WRONG faith in God. CF allows debate, but it is NOT an apologetics site.

Why can't we just start using a forum-specific ban on the people that cause problems here? If THEY cannot follow our rules, why are WE being punished for it?

Amen T&O--I have been even been reported this past week for a comment that was resurrected from a thread that the progs dragged over to their forum. weeks ago. The ONLY reason I didn't get a warning, which are being handed out like candy, is because of the age of the post.

If ever we KNEW where the real problem laid in this contention between the factions--it is ABUNDANTLY clear now. Who really wants to silence whom?

Their dubious cries of persecution looks rather weak now doesn't it! I do think it's time for lock-out's for certain antagonist posters.

If I may interject~

It seems that the blame for the closing of the D+D area is already being placed upon the wrong folks. I can understand that you'd all like to know who's behind the closing but, you're pointing the finger of blame in the wrong direction.

I have been involved in the staff discussion that led to this closing since the beginning. I assure you that not one Progressive has even been involved in this discussion (to the best of my knowledge), nor has any input from any Progressive even been referenced in this discussion.

As a matter of fact, I can't think of any Progressive even knowing about this discussion.

Please, if something happens that you do not or agree with, do not automatically guess who to blame. Why? Because you have never once been correct in any instance since I've been following your forums. Not once. And you're not correct again.

What I would recommend is that you continue to discuss the topics that staff presents you with, as these discussions should help enact fair solutions for your area.

And stop pointing the finger of blame at the progressives, please. They had nothing to do with this. Nothing.

The only threads that have been closed in our D&D area were a direct result of multiple reports, DeanM. Who was being reported and then reporting back?

If there is a behind-the-scenes discussion about our D&D area, don't you think we're entitled to know what it is?

Why was that area shut down without the consensus of people's votes from this forum?

Of course we're going to make assumptions and the logical one is that because of people coming in and breaking our rules, we're being punished for it.

Why isn't anybody just answering my question? Can we enact a forum-specific ban system for those that repeatedly cause problems in our forum and break the rules?

Where is the discussion and why weren't we made aware of it?

Well how about that? Could it be because we're kept in the dark and usually don't find out about things until AFTER the fact?

Where do we go to contribute to the discussion? The only mention of it was in the D&D section which is now CLOSED...how do we discuss it?

The Progresives coming into the D/D in violation of the FSG caused the issue to be brought up that led to the D/D's closing , that much is correct, but we also need to adjust the FSG. We cannot comment on the PM's that led to it without the members permissions, so it is best to leave it alone till the Mods and Admins decide how to best to handle it. Please be patient with the process and hopefully we will get a direction on the resolution in short order...

Who does have something to do with it, because it certainly wasn't us? We voted in limited debate, and now that's being taken away without the consent of the majority here.

Am I the only here that would like to see the discussions about this and who said what?

It IS a direct result of the Progressives coming here, yet he's telling us we're not right and have NEVER been right and that we're pointing the finger at the wrong people?

It's not just the Progressives. We have a list of known instigators that repeatedly violate our rules and disrespect us as people.

Red, if you know of someone being dishonest about what is happening, you need to do something about it. You're the only one in a position to do it, apparently.

I'll be honest, I don't know that I trust some of the people on our moderator team to make this decision for us.

SOMEBODY is being dishonest here.

You've got to hold on and be patient as we go over the issues and hopefully bring it to the members quickly. I cannot say more than that at the present time so be patient and calm, and as soon as we can we will bring it to the members or provide a link for them to participate.

However, somebody is being dishonest and you know it. You're our moderator, Red, we voted you in...so if you know of someone being dishonest, you need to report them for it.

I haven't "done" anything except be vocal. I do that when someone accuses me of NEVER being right, even when they KNOW I am. Call me crazy.

No offense to you Rojo, but this isn't a matter of differing viewpoints. Someone is not telling the truth.

I find that the D&D forum is locked and the last post was sometime yesterday.

Interesting to say the least.

We need to be honest and admit that one of the moderators of the SDA forum before the split spear-headed helping the progressives get their own forum. I did not want to see it happen but it did - I'll live with it.

So for those of us that do most of the posting in the D&D forum there must have been LOTS of reports to get it closed. Please feel free to list your names following this post.

A clarification seems to be in order.

The D+D area has been closed. The discussion that has lead to this has been taking place at the staff level. That is why members have not seen this discussion.

It has been pointed out that some progressives have been violating the FSGs in that area. That is the extent of the progressive's involvement in the closing of this forum. To say that progressives had a hand in the closing of the forum is completely wrong. The perceived link between the members who commited FSG violations and the staff members who are discussing this closure does not exist. One could just as easily say that "People who eat hamburgers are behind this," and be far more correct than any of the other theories presented so far.

I merely pointed out that this closure was not based on any recommendation or input from any progressive member of CF. I point this out to avoid a potential misconception against an innocent party.

Did progressives post in D+D? Yes. But that's the only link to the progressives that exists. All other discussions have taken place at a staff level. I cannot comment on staff discussions, so you'll have to be patient while this addressed.

That would be me. This idea to split the forums existed long before I came to work SDA. But, you're correct. I did what I could to help the split take place, along with the help of great deal of members and staff who supported this change. I believe the vote was 40-2, and I only voted once. And, just to be clear, I was trying to offer the Progressives a discussion subforum in WWMC. That's what the poll was for. In the end, upper CF staff offered them their own forum. That was beyond the scope of my involvement. But, I'm happy that they have their own forum, and not just a subforum. I did this all in the public view, and I kept CF staff well-informed of my actions.

You can call me by name. I'm not hiding.

I'm not sure why you're bringing this up, though . . . It's all public knowledge.
