He was placed in an orphanage because none of his relatives could be found or were not eligible to take him in. He always found some way to stay with Elya, whether it was running away, refusing to be adopted, or simply convincing Elya’s latest foster parents to take him in too.

Warren and Elya reacted in completely opposite ways to their mother’s death. Warren grew cold and distant and blamed himself for the incident.
