What does everyone think of these lyrics?? They are very inspirational to me, and I want to know what y'all think!!!

I never liked this tune. I want to be ME, not anyone else and known as a follower of Jesus, but not the man himself.

Just a really weird tune. His other singles are great, Soak It Up and My heart Goes out are great songs

I don't think Warren Barfield is necessarily saying in this song that he is trying to become Jesus Christ Himself. Christian is being Christ-like, and that is how I take this song - as wanting to be like Christ in every way possible. Of course I want to be ME also, because God has a unique and individual plan for all of us that is a small puzzle piece of His Big Picture. The next time I go to the Christian store, I am going to pick up Warren's cd! I love this song! Thank you for your opinion JC 101 FM. I appreciate it!

Of course we need to be Christ-like, but this song comes dangerously close to one of the diseases that has infected CCM... the notion that we're not supposed to preach or warn or challenge the lost. (Although I like the line about spreading the good news, in context it is placed below the secondary issues of motive.)

Well, if we are truly "Christ-like" we will do all these.

We are commanded to preach the gospel and, in fact, the scriptures teach that is through "the foolishness of preaching" that God has chosen to save people. It is the Word of God that makes people "wise unto salvation."

Love? Yes. Be compassionate? Absolutely. But these are both secondary to the exclamation of the gospel by the preaching of God's word to the lost.

CCM not only puts the cart before the horse, it houses many artists who would prefer to try to pull the cart by killing the horse.

Points here for at least mentioning the spread of the gospel.

I really feel this song is saying to strive to become more like Jesus. Jesus preached the Good News - so if we are trying to be more like Him, then we also, will preach the Good News to everyone. I think what Warren was trying to say also was, by having those people feel Jesus touch and to see Jesus in him, that it will inspire those people he comes in contact with to find Jesus theirselves, and devote their lives to Him. I feel it is a showing by example, showing Christ's love. It says, "Til everyone I talk to hears His voice;" I feel that is speaking about spreading God's word, and feeling the love spoken through these words.

When God made Adam and Eve, He made them to mirror His image. "Then God said, 'Let us make man in our image, in our likeness...'"Genesis 1:26 (NIV) Because of the sin committed in the Garden, that mirror was shattered - so now, we must strive to mirror His image again - therefor, trying to be Christ-like. (IN ALL WAYS!!!)
