  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I never know what to buy him though. Women's gifts are typical, men's aren't.

Exactly! I would make mine things, like this one year I made him "love coupons" LOL! (I decorated them all nicely and made a nice envelope) And on each coupon, I'd write something that he enjoys doing and would enjoy doing with me. For example, I'm not big on video games, but one was "video game challenge" and another was "go to a Toronto Maple Leafs game" and another one was "Make out session" and another was "WILD CARD"... and so on. (of course he didn't need to ask me to do some of those things, but it made it more fun, something different. He would "cash them in" (give them to me) and it was a cute way to initiate special things to do together. He really enjoyed them, and I enjoyed spending the time with him. :)

I am not interested in Valentines day. It tries to force people into buying stuff that cost 3 x more than they do the next day...

I completely agree. I don't "do" Valentine's Day and never have. When I was dating my husband I told him my feelings on Valentine's Day and he didn't complain about not having to get me anything. :D

I normally don't get anything from hubby for Valentines Day (or any day for that matter), but I'm a giving person, so this is what I'm doing this year. And some of you may think it's sinful, but it's what he enjoys.

My husband loves to play poker with his friends. He always has to go to their houses because we don't have a poker table. That's what he is getting this year. A poker table. I'm also going to set up the whole entire room with poker stuff. Curtains, ect. Then we are going to have a Valentine's couples poker party. No, it's not going to be dirty. Just a normal game of poker. I think he'll enjoy that a lot more than any silly gift I could buy for him.

Valentine's is a little more than a month away!
Great... yet another reason for every company on Earth to guilt me into buying something for my wife based on the calendar instead of our present situation in life... :(
