Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy Kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory. for ever and ever. Amen

OK...,. What is the significance of this? Is this an advertisment?

The firsrt thing that pops upo into my mind is the theaters showing that needlessly places themselves in the position of being labeled pro religious which may just lessen their chances of bringing in revenue.

So you're in favour or companies refusing to display messages which they believe would cause offense?

If it can reflect on them as businesses yes, I do.

It's like having a full page advertisement for a gay dating site being placed in a religious newspaper.

This is funny on so many levels. Organisations like the NSS are claiming there is no ban, just a 'right to decline', talk about Orwellian double-speak. DCM Ltd are simply making themselves and their own policies look ridiculous, and the CoE are getting more publicity than they could have possible hoped.

Not really. If you, by what you allow to be seen on your property could cause you to loss revenue, then it vwould not be in their best interest to allow it.

Loss of revenue? Who said anything about loss of revenue? The advertising agency certainly haven't mentioned it

What is shown on your property can reflect on you as a business.

1 - The advertising agency do not own the property in which the adverts are shown (ie. the cinema building itself)
2 - It has nothing to do with loss of revenue, they have already in fact lost revenue by not showing the CoE advert. They could even lose further revenue if they fall foul of Equality Act legislation

So are we supposed to be offended by the Lords prayer, or that a private company has a say in what is shown on its property ?
The Advertising agency aren't showing adverts on their own property

There are people who actively look for anything and everything to be offended by. It's not really offended that they feel. They are just chronically anal and think anything that causes them hemorrhoids of the sensitivities shouldn't be bacause it bothers them.

I'm not talking about the advertising agency. I'm talking about the cinema's themselves.

How much revenue have they lost when the percentage of people who don't care outweigh those who do by a vast margin.

I would be very uncomfortable with this decision if they subsequently decided to show adverts for other faiths, or indeed for no faith. But if their policy is to not show any religious/irreligious advert, and they stick to it, then I don't have much of a problem with it, though I was surprised by it.

The idea that the people promoting this without taking into account any adverse reactions against the theaters pretty well shows me they aren't concerned with anything or anyone except themselves. If they want to advertise this, then do it on their own property.
