Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

President Bush is a buffoon. Terrorists are buffoons. There is no war on terrorism. We are all buffoons.

This is the most accurate statement I've ever read on these forums.

Are we still fighting a war on drugs too? We should strongly consider limiting our wars to one abstraction and/or inanimate object at a time.

That's why you invaded the Afgans to take out the terrorists and the heroin at the same time.

As for Iraq I'm sure it was related to these 2 somehow.

I have never been able to understand why it is evil to blow up children with a car bomb but quite alright to blow them up with bombs dropped from a plane.

Because they are smart missiles and can disguise between children and terrorists.

Children don't die silly. Plus didn't shock and awe look cool:thumbsup:

Because the terrorists don't call them bombings, they call them 'sacred explosions', clearly we need to put some faith in our weapons of destruction to avoid being thought the more evil.

Or you could write the names of 9/11 victims on then and pretend that you are getting justice.

(For those that think my sarcasm went to far with this statement. This has been done and is not right on any levels.)

So should the "war on terror' be about justice, getting them before they get us, or something else?

For one there should be no "War on Terror" there should be a search for justice.

What that post was about was dropping bombs on people (especially those that are more than likely army recruits just like the people dropping the bombs) is not justice for those that died that day. I feel that it is just demeaning to them, they deserve Osama those involve to be caught and punished that will be their justice. Not them being associated with the meaningless deaths of people that had nothing to do with it.

To be honest I think that alot of the stuff that happen after 9/11 is an insult to those that died that day.
