War in Heaven?

I can use some help.
I always want to think that this is a mental war as opposed to an actual war in the Heavens since it isn't a plural and it is speaking of future sense in Revelations.
Do you believe that there is spiritual/mental warfare happening on massive scale right now that could possibly be just as real as an actual world war?

Mind you, I'm not sure how such a thing would be knowable either way. Maybe it was literal and maybe it was something else. I'm merely curious as to why the idea of a literal war doesn't work for you.

Yes. The war in heaven is a war of teachers warring in your mind with their words and teachings. Jesus was the Mighty Warrior of prophecy; but the carnal mind doesn't perceive the true Mighty Warrior in the form of the Mighty Teacher Who subdues nations with the Sword of His Mighty Word: Revelation 19:11-13 and so we are admonished to be mighty warriors riding with Him: 2 Corinthians 10:3-4, Ephesians 6:13-15, Ephesians 6:17, Revelation 19:14-15

This is why in the Revelation we see swords and fire proceeding out of mouths: Revelation 9:17-18, Revelation 11:5 (Jeremiah 5:14), Revelation 1:16, Revelation 2:16, Revelation 19:21

I just dont see how Satan could possibly be in Heaven along with his angels to be thrown back out. i mean, does he get back into heaven?

He obviously had some kind of access to Heaven in Job.

I've wondered if Satan being cast out of Heaven wasn't "shown" twice in Sacred Scripture: St. Luke 10 and Revelation 12. I think it's possible that Our Lord and John the Revelator saw the same event at different moments in history.

There are a number of verses and phrases in Revelation 12 that indicate the war in heaven (from Revelation 12:7) is the war that happened when Satan first sinned. However, as with many spiritual matters, that war was probably only the first revelation ("cycle") of spiritual truths.

The Bible does speak of a spiritual warfare and tells Christians to put on the full suit spiritual armor in order to fight it successfully.

Ephesians 6:

The Armor of God

10Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

But the war in heaven you are asking about is a literal war that involves the armies of Holy Angels and Jesus as their commander in Chief. It was prophesied to happen in the Lord's Day as John explains in the introduction to the Revelation.

Yes, Satanic forces were permitted to tempt and accuse the holy angels in heaven just as they tempted and accuse mankind of serving God for selfish reasons as is illustrated by Job.

Revelation 12:10 (NIV)

10 Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say:

“Now have come the salvation and the power
and the kingdom of our God,
and the authority of his Messiah.
For the accuser of our brothers and sisters,
who accuses them before our God day and night,
has been hurled down.

But the time for that to be permitted would arrive when Jesus would take Kingdom power and the end of days would begin and Satan would be hurled down to our Earth after a futile resistance and be restricted here until the final war of Armageddon when he would be abyssed or imprisoned for a thousand years.

Glad to see that you understand that the things written in Revelation were prophecies to be fulfilled and were not describing past events as some understand the section you are asking about. According to one interpretation that war in heaven and Satan's being ousted PERMANENTLY from access to heaven and being hurled to the Earth along with his rebel angels occurred in 1914 which coincided with the woe to the Earth and the sea of mankind as evidenced by the First World War.

Others might view it as an event as yet to occur.
