  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I went to War Horse and loved it.
I know some people who said they didn't want to go if the horse dies... Well, horses break legs, get shot, and there are many dead horses. It's a war movie, and horses were used in war. I'm a huge animal lover and I *still* loved this movie, for the history, war, etc. It is a very touching movie.

It was not well done IMO. Cinematography was beautiful, but everything else was lackluster.

Characterization was sub-par, and I don't think this movie even had a plot. Everything happened at random. The film lackd an anatagonist of any kind, giving us nothing to rally behind or against. It was impossible to get emotionally invested, so I began not caring what happened to the horse.

Never make your main character an animal. makes it impossible for the typical movie-goer to relate to your protagonist.

Also, did anyone else find the scene where they are charging in on horses towards the machineguns unintentionally hilarious? They'd show a shot of them riding towards it, then they'd show the rider-less horses running past the germans. It was like something out of a well-edited youtube video. I could barely stifle my laughter.

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows was movie of the year IMO. Not much competition, except maybe Hugo.

My boyfriend's in the military so he had a bit of a different perspective on some scenes, but we both still really enjoyed it. We didn't see the first Sherlock Holmes nor had any interest to, so there's no point going to the second one. And didn't want to see Hugo either.
