  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi everyone,

I just have a question today,so I work a job with public works and frequently work on the roads and roadside and I often find things of value and worth, like for example I’ve found a $20 bill,a free car wash card,a Plaacard off a hazmat truck, and a kobalt box knife,as well as pocket change occasionally like a penny or nickel.

what is concerning about this is I’m always hoping or on the lookout for cool treasures people drop, now needless to say if it’s an object that is of significant value and worth like a wallet, watch, ring, gun,or drugs I return it to the authorities or proper people to return it to their rightful owners. But I’m concerned if this is a work of Greed.Like I’ve said in previous posts I don’t want money or excessively lust for it.I only play the lottery(scratch offs that cost no more than $1) for fun and only play gambling games like blackjack for fun with non value chips.I’m concerned it is either a sin of lust or greed for items.

I look for objects on the roadside that can be of valuable use.My question is,is this a sin of greed or lust or is it ok to look for treasures?

I think it's ok; especially if you are making an effort to return an item of value like a cell phone or wallet.

If you find something discarded that's nice for you, that's good too. Thank your Father for it. The sparrows are probably pretty happy too when they see some discarded crumbcake and you are worth more than many sparrows.
