Wanting to find Christian music...

But I don't know where to start .

I only usually listen to surcular music and I really don't know anything about Christian music. I think it would be nice for a change, just to hear some music that glorifies Jesus' Name.

I'm looking for something that is kinda popish or in the R&B area, perhaps anyone knows any good bands?

I'd also recommend going to your local christian book store and just listening to cd's for a while til you find one you like. There is christian music for EVERYONE's tastes now...it's come a long way from the Stryper/Bill Gaither only days.

Hey if you're looking for Christmas cds, Relient K put out a Christmas cd last year. I know Toby Mac had a lil EP that he put out, very small but really cute too. There's a collection of cds called "Happy Christmas" from Tooth & Nail records, those are fun. I'm sure there's other Christian artist who have also put out Christmas music cd or EP those are just the few I know of right off the top of my head. *laughs* Of course there's always Veggie Tales Christmas cds too.

If you go into www.christianrock.net you may find what you are looking for. You can check out the lyrics, and listen to demos of their songs.
Im not so familiar with the R&B bands, so I cant recomend any. But if you want something in the rock \ pop \ metal area, I would be glad to list some up for you.

out of eden? i don't know... i don't listen to pop or R&B... they're the only christian R&B band i know... and i can't stand them lol... maybe you'll like them...

These would be great R&B artists.
Also try Tait and TobyMac. Early DC Talk was more "hip-hop" but they also have some R&B sound on their Jesus Freak and Supernatural CD

Just check out the Steelroots TV show it comes on Monday-Friday 5:00pm to 6:00pm eastern standard time. Not sure what channel it will be on in your area, youll have to look. Or you can just go to there website by going to google and searching "Steelroots" or something like that. Um they have all the types and kinds of christian music you could ask for, christian rock, rap, R&B, people like switchfoot, Thousand Foot Krutch, U2, Toby Mac, Tait. etc. They are a show just for Christians. Check it out, youll like it.
