I see your equating tattoos as someone would look at a gun, they all aren't used in liquer store holdups, some are on the hips of police officers........Is this sort of the notion you hold
I'm not sure what Jewishness has to do with it, since the end of sacrifice there are no Jews keeping the law, "without the shedding of blood there can be no forgiveness for sins" I'm sure a permanet ink design on their bodies is the least of their worries.I believe many tattoos are not in fact evil for those of us who are not Jewish.

Yes you are correct, but wait till Jesus comes again, the days of cheek turning are about to come to an end, He will rule with an iron scepture, and I believe a sword that comes out of His mouth will strike down His enemies, remember there are more prophecies of Jesus to be fulfilled, ones where He reigns and rules as King and many of these prophecies were why the Jews rejected the first Jesus, He didn't rule and destroy His enemies, many folks who have this mental picture of this limp wristed, turn the other cheek Jesus are going to be very surprised at the second coming ruling and reigning King of King and Lord of Lord Jesus. These are the days of grace and of mercy enjoy them while they last.Matthew 5:39
But I tell you, Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also.
Jesus didn't carry a gun and turned the other cheek when he was crucified; he didn't try to escape when he was up on that cross.
Jesus used the truth as his weapon; not a gun or any man-made weapon; the word is not man-made.
I'm not sure why you find it sad that my decision is now to not get a tattoo. I find it to be a really good thing. I came here heavily debating this. Was the tattoo something I really wanted? Yes, it was. Am I any closer to understanding if it's a sin or not? Not so much.
But it's a moot point now, for me. From what everyone has contributed to this thread it has eased my mind and allowed me to come to the conclusion to not go ahead with a tattoo. And I am at ease with that and content with that choice. It's like someone else stated if I am unsure of it, why go forward with it. God is apparently trying to tell me something and I need to listen.
No one here drove me away from anything, I think they more or less just helped translate to me what God may be saying but I couldn't grasp or understand at the time. And for that I am beyond thankful.
Everytime I come to a thread like this with debates going on, I can sense the devil working among us to create confusion and havoc. I believe God knows who is right and who is wrong, and I am glad Exley has decided to put God first and not go ahead with his/her own desires. It is much better to not do something (especially when it originates from our own desires) than to do something and then later regret. The devil has lost and I thank God that Exley is not giving in to his/her flesh to gratify it.

This explains EVERYTHING. This is incorrect. NOT every conflict/debate that unfolds on these boards IS the work of "the devil". That's wholly incorrect. A lot of it stems from the fact that a lot of these Christians are newbies and babies in Christ, and they have to learn and mature in the things of GOD through questioning and trial and error. So don't censure it, police it, sanction it or silence it. Sometimes this is the only way for some to learn and evolve. Plus, some of it comes from the fact that they have a poor understanding of scripture, but everyone has to start somewhere so if they are freely allowed to openly express themselves and their thoughts then they can only improve from there. So don't rebuke them or order them to repent simply bc ur understanding of scripture conflicts with their understanding of scripture. As long as we all remain diligent in our walks with Christ we are all doing something right.
EDIT: Everyone's very independent here and very capable of handling themselves without unsolicited assistance. Really, when not just you but ALL of us have Christ on our side NO ONE needs to rely on a 19-yr-old babysitter in this game. It just isn't necessary, especially when u are dealing with people who are 2-3 times older than you. Age and experience account for a lot.
LOL. Me too and I'm sure that doesn't just apply to us.Yup.........................Wise advice.......... Ive lost count of the amount of times I've cringed in horror as I look back and contemplate the things I've said in my youthful exuberance.
I think that may be why the Lord gave us two ears and only one mouth...We should be twice as likely to listen as to speak
