Greetings
I have found a Couple of great Bible programs that have great study helps. The Bible Database program has commentaries, dictionaries, lexicons, and you can download extra bible version from the earliest versions or greek, hebrew, latin. It come with many downloads you can dowload and it's all free.

http://bibledatabase.org

This next program is called the word, it has many downloads and many versions, this one has mostly a wider range of bible version.

http://http://www.theword.gr/en/index.php/w/download?ws=bibletexts

Get then both there free and all downloads are free also.
I seen somepeople asking question about which Bible, now anyone can have them all to study.

Good luck on all your Studies.
Receive this as a blessing in Jesus name.
peace to you all.

I do not use the word "free" the same way. I don't think when Jesus freed us, it was a matter of money.

When it comes to free Bible study programs, I really recommend the Sword project programs which are free not only as in free beer, but also as in freedom :)

God bless

I just wish e-sword could be freed someday... Lots of people have been writing to the e-sword developer to ask it, but it seems he wants to keep it as a freeware :(

I pray he will open the code soon, because this is a nice program...

I have e-sword and love it. I down loaded it and then paid the $20.00 for the CD. I don't think you would find one any cheaper.

My concern is not about the price you pay (although there is cheaper than $20, since the Sword project is free as in no money to pay) but about the freedom you have.

If you found cheap sandwiches but didn't have the right to look inside to see what's in, add a bit of sauce to it or remove an ingredient that doesn't taste so good, how would you like it?
Proprietary software such as e-sword are exactly the same: you can't see how it was done, you can't add to it and you can't fix it if it bugs because you don't have the right to.

I'd be fine to pay for my software, my concern is really freedom.

e-Sword is the nicest cost-free Bible program available for Windows. Unfortunately, it's available only for Windows. I feel the code is too good to keep from Mac users, but such users have new options. They can run a VM (Virtual Machine) of Windows to run e-Sword (using a legal copy of Windows, of course). You can use CrossOver, which runs individual Windows programs (legally, though you must purchase the CrossOver program), or you can dual-boot your system and boot into Windows as if it were a regular Windows machine.

As for Mac users, the Sword Project is good because it has a Mac OS X port, and there are a few others, but the best one I found is not free - Accordance. It's worth the price of the basic library set coupled with your one or two favorite translations. I bought it with an ESV, got it on discount as a student, and haven't regretted it. It's wonderful, and has extremely powerful features if you ever want to take advantage of them. It's only available for Mac OS X, though.

Whenever you have the chance, please ask the e-sword guy to release his code, so people can benefit from his great work without having to buy Microsoft products...

Bibletime is in my opinion one of the best program from the Sword project. It only works for Linux so far, but ports for Windows and MacOS are planned in Bibletime 2.0 since it will be based on Qt4.
