Joe
Let's not start the anti-American rhetoric. But I do agree with Theo.
Joe, by the same token, you need to be outside the States too....to better appreciate the 'rest of the world' outside the eyes of CNN.
As qualifiers, I'm a staunch "Canuck" but with great appreciation that our Canadian economy heavily relies on the US. I also believe that Canadian soldiers should be side by side in Iraq with US soldiers (but that's a different topic altogether).
That being said, I've had to good fortune to travel globally and have long last finally understood that Canada/the US aren't the center of the globe, as much as we'd like it to be. The 1997 Asian crisis which impacted the world proved that. Among the plausible causes, many 'experts' have pinpointed Thailand, of all things!
Also, I've always believed, that I couldn't be happy living outside Canada (yes, I know, wherever God wants you to be is where you'll be happiest). But until I went outside my borders, I truly appreciate other countries and other cultures. Now, if the Lord leads, I'd live in London at a moment's notice.
