Now that we have established that there are some behaviors that assist us in walking closely with God, I'm wondering how much is dependant on our motives/attitudes/behaviors/etc. that actually contribute to our walk with God? Do we actual play a part or is it only the Holy Spirit in our lives? Any ideas would be welcome.
Thank you,

We play a part, and the Church plays a part. Confession, prayer rules, fasting are there to teach you humility, to make it real. How can one humble themselves before God, if they have never humbled themselves before another. We submit to the Church, and all that entails. This in turn transforms our world, litteraly and spiritually so that everything revolves around Christ. The hours of the day, the days of ther week, the seasons, our tasks and jobs, our approach to family life, marriage, our concepts of property, food, suffering, life and death etc. Everything is shaped by this Orthodox mind, or the "way" as it is put in the scriptures. If we choose to submit to it.
