Walking in the world.
Galatians 1:3 Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ,
4 Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:
5 To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Ephesians 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
1 John 5:19 And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.
God's word clearly states that we are to flee from the things of the world,and yet I hear people all the time make excuses of why they don't think this is what they have to do. They claim that they can be a Christian and still frequent bars and nightclubs. That they can go see the latest R rated movie, that they can dress in skimpy clothing because it is the fashion of the day. I'm always surprised at the compromises Christians are willing to make today.
Our pastor said yesterday that we don't try and fit our lifestyle to God's Word but we try and fit the God's Word to our lifestyle!
