At August Free First Saturday [August 5th], Brooklyn-based artist Tamar Ettun (she/they) will present Lilit the Empathetic Demon. The performance is inspired by Lilit, an aerial spirit demon with origins in Sumerian, Akkadian, and Judaic mythology. Families are invited to create a vessel to trap the demon that knows them best—perhaps the “demon of overthinking”—and then participate in a playful ceremony to summon and befriend their demon.
If you missed it, you have a few more chances!
Lilit the Demon presented by Dreamsong is coming to The Walker Art Center (august 5), The Armory Show as part of Armory Off-Site (September 7-10) and NADA House (September 1-October 1)
