My sister did it a few years ago. She's a Presbyterian pastor. I think I'd do it if I had the opportunity.

Don't be afraid of everything Catholic. I don't know exactly what this retreat might have to do with the Stations of the Cross, but I wouldn't be afraid of that, either. It's simply a set of meditations. A lot of protestant spiritual retreats and emerging churches do similar things.

But don't do it if it gives you problems of conscience. Ask someone who's been to one, or the director of this one if you have any questions.

As a Catholic, I am very active in the Cursillo movement, which was the precursor of Walk to Emmaus.

Don't worry about the Stations of the Cross. All Catholic elements have been taken out of the Protestant versions.

What is different from Walk to Emmaus then any other retreat is that they give you the tools and the process to maintain the level of spirituality you have during the retreat Most retreats can be wonderful, but soon afterwards they tend to "wear-off". That is what is so different with WtE.

In the Cursillo movement, the retreat is for three days. We refer to the rest of our lives as the fourth day. We put into practice what we have learned and support one another as we grow spiritually.

I hope that helps.
