  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

^_^ I'm sorry but this question makes me laugh. I think I spend half my night in the bathroom!! I wake up once every hour, I look at the clock and my bladder is on this routine clock where I get up every night at the same time. Although, I've noticed the past couple nights I haven't had to go after about 4:30. Since my 2nd trimester though I've been up all night going to the bathroom. I'm pretty sure it's a normal part of pregnancy, not the most fun though but I've accepted it.

As far as insomnia, I only went through that for about a month if that long during the middle of my 2nd trimester.

I haven't had the insomnia yet. Hopefully I'll avoid it!

I had a period during my 1st trimester where I got up a lot to go to the bathroom, but I think it was because I got so thirsty at night and drank a lot of water before bed :) Now I've been waking about 2-3 times during the night to go to the bathroom, but I don't drink very much before bedtime. Luckily, my husband is a pretty heavy sleeper so he hasn't noticed me getting up :)

I usually sleep through but then my bladder is so full that I can't empty it all at once!! Agh, sorry tmi.
I should get up once. I'm trying to limit my last drink of water before bed to no more than a sip. Though it seems a sip goes in, a gallon comes out. And I don't want to dehydrate either. I know the routine night waking will start soon. I'm only 6 weeks along.:)

The insomnia hit for a while mid-trimester two but its gone. I feel like I have to go to the bathroom so bad I can't hold it any longer, get to the bathroom and nothing comes out. :sigh: Other than that, it is just flat not being able to get comfortable anymore.

Insomnia in pregnany is really common - the baby's metabolism doesn't really know the difference between night and day, so your body doesn't get to slow down as much.

I used to find that if I was awake for any length of time, I'd have to get up to eat.

Just think what good practice it is for after the baby is born :)

I had the same problem getting comfortable but my doctor gave me a great tip a couple weeks ago which has helped me SO MUCH the past few weeks. My problem was that my hips would kill me after laying on one side or the other so I would find myself tossing and turning all night long to relieve whichever hip was killing me. My doctor told me to get a small pillow or wedge and put it behind my back so that I wouldn't have to totally lay on my side or completely be on my back. So I bought a mini maternity pillow at Bed Bath and Beyond, I use that one behind my lower back/hip area to prop it up and then I use my other maternity pillow in front to put under my belly and between my legs. It's so much more comfortable for me at night, my hips hardly bother me and I don't toss and turn near as much.
