  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

i thought it would be cool if we all said what college we go to and what our majors are.  if you're one of the supercool people that isnt in college, just say what you do for a living.

Im Tim, i go to Pensacola Christian College and im double majoring in Business Management and Marketing with a minor in Finance.

I went to Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY and got a BA in Communication Arts (Radio/TV/Film).

I now work there, and take classes part time in order to keep up my learning, take as many religion-based classes as I can, and keep up my math skills for when I take the GRE to get into grad school.

:)

i graduated from college seven years ago. i escaped with a degree in natural resources.
i've yet to use it.

since graduation my life has consisted of two things- temporary jobs and great journeys. it's an interesting cycle...work, travel; work; travel; work, travel...i think you get the idea.

at the moment i'm a carpenter, that is until i once again get the itch to wander.

i love my nomadic existence. i wouldn't trade it for anything.

Music Education with an instrumental focus.  I take my exam for my entire major on Wednesday.  I have to play flute, saxaphone, trombone, bassoon, clarinet, marimba, snare drum, and timpani.  I also have to play a transposed score on the piano in concert pitch, sight sing a line of music, sight read on the trumpet, and play the piano in all four clefs (treble, alto, tenor, and bass). I'm freakin' out!

you really haven't used it?  like i said, i'm majoring in environmental science, and my emphasis is on conservations of natural resources.  i'm not really worried, God has definitely led me down this path, and i will travel it fearlessly (as fearlessly as i can).  so have you not used it by choice, or because you couldn't find a job in it?

I kind of don't wanna say my location since I'm still paranoid about stuff like that.
But I'm a double major in English and Religion. I just have one more English class to finish the major. So RayNay and I are both crazy with English!
I wanna go to seminary and study greek some more. I want to be a professor.

Don't hurry through school. It is more than a piece of paper. We use the term "education" flippantly. Don't just get a degree. Get an education. Take advantage of the opportunity you have to learn. If it takes you an extra year to get through, no big deal.
Ok. I'll shut up now.

Mr. Cheese,

I see where you're coming from, but I TOTALLY disagree. I'm going to be a teacher, right? An elementary teacher. Can you explain to me what takes FIVE YEARS to teach third graders how to multiply and divide? Nevermind the fact that, if I teach in Michigan, I'll be in school anyway for the rest of my life...(They make teachers take continuing ed. classes throughout their careers.) So, if I want to start working, I have no choice but to hurry up and get done. And I'll be in school the rest of my career anyway, so why not rush?

(If anyone can't tell, I'm EXTREMELY irritated with the way education degrees work here in MI)

Been there done that Caley and it is a nightmare(those solfeggio classes are the worst:()

Graduated last year with a Bachelor's degree in music Majoring Music education with emphasis on piano and classical guitar( but as caley stated, we need to learn all those instruments to teach)

My worst experience was playing figured bass(baroque), playing all those different clefs(and singing them!!!), and playing an orchestral score using a piano(i did not sleep for two days just to figure that out before my final exam)
